Foxtail Golf Club - South Course
About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

Great
Initially 1st tee sign was not clear and got lost since it was not near the club house. Otherwise it’s nice place to play.
Another Fine Day on the Course, but...
Beautiful day and wide open course. Still struggling keeping it straight, but the course was awesome! Rough is getting a bit long and the greens were a little slow but I still love this course! Good for beginner and seasoned player alike.
Watch out for the weddings on this course. Apparently they use the side of the 18th green for pictures and don't pay attention to incoming balls. They also yanked the putt and chip areas for ceremonies held behind those areas. That happened around 4:30pm. Otherwise, Game On!
DogLeg Left - North Course
Foxtail Golf North nice course ... bring your draw A-game. Had great time even though we started at 3:00 PM, we still finished at sunset.
Great Foursome
I usually find a rate on Golf Now and take whatever pairing comes my way. Yesterday played with a Gentleman named John and a couple Tony and Denise. We got around in 4.5 hours with Cart Path Only which I thought was a good pace. I really enjoyed playing with these people as they were all capable golfers and courteous. Made for a very nice afternoon.
Foxtrail Golf
The course was beautiful for the time of year and staff was very friendly. The course had 5 par three's and long par five's.
the person who checked us in was rude and unprofessional. tee boxes were the worst I've seen there in the last 20 years. greens were marginal . won't be back until I hear of changes.I play ounce a week somewhere in Sonoma county ; not here
great course for the price
This course is the second one here and is not kept up as well as the north course but is in good shape. Some bunkers are a little compacted but still playable. Course is more challenging than you would think from looking at the score card.
Very slow monday
Let me just say course is north course is very good course. But picked bad day Monday 1230 tee time . Seen six people golfing.. in front of us. Hole course backed up.
Nice flat course
Course was really busy (and packed) but pace of play was good. Started at 1230pm and finished at 430pm for back to back foursomes. Tee boxes need a little attention, but fairways and greens were in good condition. We rode a power cart, but would come back and walk it with push carts.
V Nice
Would play here anytime. Windy on south course last few holes, but fun challenge.
