About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

Great place
Updated bunkers and beautiful fairways. First hole can be a challenge. If you can clear left side bunker you will get great roll and shot at getting on in two. Love the Northside. Thanks Foxtail!
Foxtail south
Consistently over booked and terrible pace of play. Golf now offers good deals which is all that keeps me coming back
Almost had whole place to myself
Teed off around noon Christmas day. No one ahead or behind me 'til 11th fairway (2 hackers playing from tips). To resolve I skipped 2 holes and came back later to complete card. Course condition overall good. No bunker sand but greens excellent. Clubhouse closed at 2pm; had to get cart back by 3pm. Not a problem; finished by 230.
Great shape in December
I’ve always been a foxtail fan. Only drawback is pace of play. Seems like it’s always just a little slow and you end up waiting for pretty much every shot. Course is in awesome shape for December. Couldn’t believe how dry it was and the greens were rolling good and fast. The layout is good and will definitely challenge you if you play from the black tees. Course is a beast from the tips. I would always recommend this course to anyone. When it does rain it does drain well also.
Slow Play
The course was pretty nice, but it took 5 hours to complete the round which is unacceptable to me.
Renovated Greenside Bunkers
Course was in great shape. The fairway bunkers still need work, but the greenside bunkers are great!
Well Maintained
Even with a few days of rain, the course was very playable. Definitely time to put the expensive balls away, if you can't find the fairway. The rough wasn't in a good mood.
Sand traps were fluffy, and greens a tad bumpy, from rain softening the surface.
Can't wait to play Foxtail North again.
Golf back up
I love golfing at Foxtail. But on Sunday way too many golfers were booked too close together. Instead of getting to play 18 holes we only played 13. Please do not schedule the times so close together. I don't know if this is a golf course problem or a booking problem but maybe both could work together.

Winter conditions
Course was wet and the rough long. Not a problem if I would just hit the fairway.
Greens were uncustomarily long and uncut.
Still a great value.
