The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Tortolita/Wild Burro
About
The desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range provide the stunning backdrop for the three nines designed by Jack Nicklaus at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain. They are played in three different 18-hole combinations, one of them being Tortolita/Wild Burro. The Tortolita nine serves as the back nine for the PGA Tour's Accenture Match Play Championship, but Nicklaus considers Wild Burro to be the best of the three. Playing through canyons and desert washes, the golf course features dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. Tortolita's third hole has the highest elevation at the club while the ninth hole on Wild Burro is the longest finishing hole of any of the nines. The intricately contoured greens and strategic fairway bunkering provide a challenge for even experienced golfers.

Great golf experience
Tough course but beautiful setting and great conditions. Gives you a real perspective on how good a golf course can be!
FAST GREENS
GREENS WERE DRIED OUT AND PROBABLY OFF THE STEMP METER. SO FAST A 10 FT PUTT FINISHED 25 FT AWAY. MANY OF THE SAND TRAPS WERE FULL OF ROCKS. FAIRWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE.
Perfect Golf
75 degrees, calm winds, the course to ourselves.
Perfect golf.
Greens are like an egg
Was excited to play this course since it was the host of the Accenture Match Play and was a Ritz-Carlton property. It did not disappoint. The greens are not flat....anywhere! You must be able to read a green like the pros and place your approach shot like the pros. It was fun to try!!
Outstanding experience
Greens were very tough as advertised but totally worth the sacrifice of a handful of extra strokes. Worth every penny!!!
NICE course
My husband and I are avid golfers and have golfed many in the Phoenix, Tucson areas. Dive mountain is one on the top list. Very nice course.
Scenic course
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain is a terrific golf experience for the above average golfer. It is one of the most scenic courses in Tucson. This Jack Nicklaus designed championship course is very challenging especially the Greens. To get the most enjoyment playing this course be sure to play from the best tees that fit your game. The score card offers combo tees which adjusts the course length that best fits each golfers comfort zone.
Enjoyable round
Enjoyed the course. Practice facilities very good. Enjoyed our round. Only negative was that folks did not fix their divots. Will definitely play again.
Serious Greens!
The course is in excellent condition, but the greens are nasty! They are firm and smooth, but hard to hold and the undulations are almost unfair if you’re on the wrong part of the green. But we love the course and will be back.
Lots of bunkers
Very generous fairways but quite a few have well placed bunkers which see to catch many a well struck shot. Steer clear if you want a good score!
Nice course very tough greens hardly a flat put not for beginners
Always a challenge
Tremendous , difficult course. Able to play 18 in 3.75 hours. Always enjoy this course—-humbling, challenging, greens very quick today.
Spectacular location
A memorable course to celebrate my birthday. It was a beautiful day on a beautiful course. It was truly special.
Fantastic Course
Very challenging course, but was in perfect condition. A number of tee boxes for all level of players, but beginners will struggle regardless as it's a difficult course with undulating and fast greens. Played a few days ago while southern Arizona was a lot cooler than average, but it was still an enjoyable round. Had a good lunch prior to the round and both food and service was great. The only disappointment was that being from out of state, I was hoping to stop in the pro shop and purchase a few souvenirs after the round, but it was closed at 5:30 p.m. There's also no online store from what I can tell. Between my playing partner and I, they would've made an extra $300 or so.
Wonderful
Top 10 we have played. We play all over the country
Greens Not Fair, but interesting course
There are 3 nines here. All are hard, but Wild Burro is the hardest. The holes are long, so bring your game. The only criticism we have is that the greens are not fair. They are cut very short, with lots of undulations, and no way to figure out the break. Consequently, nothing sticks, and a 2 putt is considered a victory. I had a high score because 3 putts were common. Also, you can lose your ball in the fairway in a heartbeat. Happened to my hub 3 times. I would still play it again!
Amazing course, great challenge!!
This course has some of the best views in Tucson as well as beautiful fairways, deep bunkers and “pull your hair” out greens!! Although I struggled through most of the round (except for birdiing the last two holes), I enjoyed every minute. Make the time and play one of Tucson’s best courses!!!
Where was the staff? Oh well.
78 degrees and a holiday! But where were the employees? I went to the pro shop and the one guy there ignored me for 5 minutes while going thru every possible tee time for some caller. Oh well. Then to the halfway house where the sole employee was also driving the beer cart on all 27 holes. Oh well. Finished the round in just under 4 hours and carried my bags to the car. Oh well.
