The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Tortolita/Wild Burro

Unbelievable! This course is deceptive to the eye. Guard your predicted yardages! What...? That putt should have a break? What...??? Why was that green so hard to hit from 100 yards!!! Wow good drive! Wait? What..?? I hit that one good! How did it wide up there?

Play this course - great layout... hilarious egg faced moments - proud moments. Such a test of composure and patience.

the course is beautiful. the views are awesome. Condition is great. Greens are undulating and have many breaks - hard to read. They are very receptive and we believe are bent grass. the design is great. Bail out options provided, but at a risk reward cost. The course if difficult but fair. No Pete Dye bs. I love it. My playing partners love it.

Unfortunately, the pace of play was 6 hours. Not because of the course layout, but because the Marshalls did not do their job. Carts are monitored by satellite and their position can be seen in the golf shop. The course staff ignored these. On the 3rd hole, we called them from the course to complain about the pace of play. They sent out a bag boy who gave lip service. The pace never changed and we never saw him again. We had to wait on every hole, every shot, for the entire 18 holes. It was a horrible experience. 20 minutes on every hole.

Course (Saguaro/Tortolita) was very fun and moderately challenging, pace of play was great, and scenery fantastic, but we were only able to play 14 holes due to storms/lightning. This was unfortunate because it was a birthday outing and we were unable to finish the course.

This was my first time playing this course. I heard from other friends how difficult this course was but to my surprise , it was not. Now with that said, if I was a a new player, I would not want to experience this course until I had some playing time under my belt. The forced carries and difficult to read greens made it challenging but for me that is what made it exciting. The course was in amazing shape, pace of play was fabulous and the staff was outstanding. This has become one of my favorite courses in Az.

The fairways are fairly wide and not to many force carries. Typical Jack course. Lots fairway bunkers and greens are challenging. Really must play course in the Tucson area. play late summer for best value

One of best courses in town. Great staff

Real nice practice facility. Course layout is great for intermediate and better golfers. Greens were slower and a bit beat up. A great day and the weather was way better than anticipated.

Caught a great rate through GolfNow.so I decided to play this course for the first time. The course was in fine condition and the weather cooperated. Though this is a course the pros played on I thought it would be difficult for my skill set. I found that the fairways are generously wide, however, I found bunkers that were not visible from the tees. Not many people on the course at my 1 pm tee-time. A fun and scenic course to play. I would certainly play here again. Course is a Gem, for the price.

Best greens I have played all summer!!

For $55 and a perfectly conditioned course, Dove Mt can't be beat. Worth the $200 they charge in season and can't pass up the summer rates . Greens a little slower than in January but very playable. They hosted the Match Play from 2010-14; perfect desert golf.

Tucson has many great values in the summer, but right now Dove Mountain is among the best since the course condition is terrific, except for some bunkers, and the beauty of the course and scenery are unrivaled. The staff is pleasant and professional and the use of the practice facilities makes the price of $44 even a better deal. A terrific experience although the heat and humidity over the last few holes was taking its toll.

Myself and 3 co-workers drove down from Phoenix to play this course and the trip was well worth it.

As with any course played for the first time, it was hard to know all the nuances and sublties of the course. Lots of traps but easy to play around them. Greens are extremely large and were very soft. A little slow and fuzzy but think that was due to the greens not being mowed that particular day.

The staff was extremely friendly. There were only 2 groups on the course when we played and the starter's great sense of humor came out when he said we were falling behing the pace of play and needed to speed up.

Only negative I could find and this is stretching here, would be the fairways were a little brown in spots. But then again, this is the desert in summer so not to surprising.

The course is very scenic, very private, and challenging to play. The condition of the course however, is not up to Ritz Carlton standards. There are some thin areas and just plain bare spots on several of the fairways, one bunker has been taken over by a hive of bees, and two of the greens were playing host to hundreds of very small brown toads. It is a hot summer, and it appears that ownership simply does not have the income/budget to keep the course in good-to-excellent shape. The plus side to this is that the greens fee is a very reasonable $42, which includes a cart with gps and cold water, and range balls.

At this price, we ignore the bad spots by simply rolling our ball to a good spot, and enjoying a quality Nicklaus layout with terrific views. We have played it several times, and will continue to do so.

I don't know why this course is so rarely played. Those folks at Ritz Carlton know what Tucson City Players are missing. Did you know that this is the home course for Ironwood High School? If they can play it, it's not too difficult for other amateurs to play it; I played from the Yellow Tees and still found it enjoyable yet challenging. Come out and play this before surrounding houses ruin the serenity.

Fantastic course and facilities. Restaurant was very good before round. GPS on carts makes the difficult course easier for the 1st time player. You know when you shouldn't take out the driver. If you hit the greens the ball sticks... greens in great shape and roll true. Love this course. Will be back again. Ritz Hotel is also 5 star if you want to stay and play.

So much trouble, be sure to bring extra balls as there are lots of carries and so many bunkers. Greens were a little slow (perhaps they were just plugged and sanded?) but otherwise an outstanding golf course with amazing scenery. Staff is so friendly and the starter said "just go ahead and go", even though we were well ahead of our tee time. Well worth the money and a great course to play!

Very challenging course. Very nice people. Loved the views in the Tortilitta Mountains.Excellent time and I loved playing where the Accenture Match Play took place! I will be going back as much as possible!

This course is amazing! You want to play well just because you know the golf greats have all played here as well! The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel special. The course condition was A+++++. I really loved this place and it just so happens I'm playing again today! Can't wait!! See you out there,Enjoy.
