About
Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, just outside of Hartford, is an Arnold Palmer Signature course. It is one of the toughest rounds in all of New England. The course sprawls across a beautiful landscape covered with natural wetlands and forests of towering maples, oaks, and elm trees. There are strategically placed bunkers in addition to the natural challenges but they are not excessive. The wetlands come into play on almost half of the holes at Gillette Ridge Golf Club. The approaches to the greens are seemingly intimidating but as long as you don't hit short there is always bailout area on one side. Since each hole presents a unique challenge, there is not just one signature hole, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, a true risk-reward test that requires both length and accuracy.

Fun time
First time at Gillette and will be back. Coarse is in very good condition especially considering weather for past month.
Good overall
The course was wet and some areas of fairways were soggy. I had a tough time with my short game since the club does not bounce but digs into the ground if I hit a little bit behind the ball. But the greens were fast and fair.
Rainny Sunday
Here we are again! It's raining but we're golfing and having fun. The staff was really friendly and the course is always beautiful and the price was right thanks to Golfnow. I would recommend this course to all golfers.like I said before, the price is right if u book thru Golfnow. I would play here again and again even with their price. The layout is perfect for my game.plety of danger and the rough is a rough. The green was true thru the whole 18 green, . Thanks Golfnow!
Definitely coming back
Played Gillette Ridge for the first time today from the blues (72.1/135). The course was in excellent condition. Tees, fairways and greens were all in great shape. Nice mix of short and longer holes, straight, right and left doglegs. Fairways are generous and greens are receptive to well struck shots.
There are some long stretches between greens to the next tee, so walking makes it a lot longer. Not sure if it's COVID related or not, but there are no convenience stations (toilets) and we didn't see the cart girl until the back nine. Be prepared for those two things... but enjoy the course because it is fun and challenging to play.
Great layout, makes you think.
The course in general is very well kept up. My only issue is NOT directed to the personnel, it is more to the players....PLEASE REPAIR YOUR BALLMARKS! I generally go by repair your own +1. I was having to repair my own +3 or more.
Played course in 3 hours 40 minutes
Good challenge played blue tees rounds where 80, 87 and 90. Had a good time!

Played there 10 years ago. Didnt care for course much. 2nd time was a charm. Cant wait to go back ! And thx to the starter for lettin me play the tips. !

Awesome Fairways and Greens
I have always loved this place... tricky holes are 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 14th and 16th. Those really make this place soooo exciting! Fore! Oh the staff? Awesome!!!
Pace of play issue
I teed off as a single at 8:10 on Monday 6/26. Finished 9 at 11:18.
I was trying to play a quick 18 and got stuck in a death march. Matched up with 3 hacks losing 2+ balls/ hole. I would love if this course would take into consideration how difficult it is and group people accordingly.
Great but challenging course
Always a challenge playing here. The average golfer like myself (14 handicap) will plan to lose balls here but the course will make you better each time. Can’t beat a weekday morning rate of $39 including cart!
Good pace of play
Tee off at 7:00am with one other golfer.we had a nice round. The pace was good, I enjoy early tee times because pace is good in the early morning. The course is well maintained.
I would return.
