Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course

About
The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.
The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.
Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Great course
Planning to move to the area and have checked out several courses. This has been the best value course. Excellent shape, good layouts for each hole, has a driving range, chipping, bunker and putting greens at a reasonable price.
Excellent Course
Love playing this course. It’s pricey on the weekends it worth it. Course is always in great shape and staff is friendly. Lots of amenities throughout the course(water, bathrooms, etc). Only downside is you rarely see a cart girl driving around.
course is in great condition
One of my favorite DFW courses. Always in spectactular condition. Water stations set up along the course keeps you hydrated on hot days. Finished in under 4 hours during mid week. 27 holes allows a differwnt experience each visit.
It was a lovely golf course, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Thank you very much.
Great course, in excellent condition.
Getting back to playing after a few years of not. Course was in very good condition, only one green just a bit off, but the rest rolled well. Friend and I played mid afternoon so most of the regulars were done so our pace of play was fairly brisk, with us finishing in 3 1/2 hours.
Best public course in greater DFW area
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are best condition compared to all other public courses in greater DFW area. It’s not even close. The staff is friendly. The driving range is excellent. Really nice short game area. Very nice practice green. Most courses in DFW struggle with maintaining course conditions in the brutal Texas heat. Not these guys. I can’t say enough good things about this course!
Rude members
Had a great 9 on the North course, moved to the south course and noticed there was a group on the green and another on the fairway. The fourth person in our group quit after 9 so we were left with just 3 in our group to begin the back 9. The first hole took us almost 30 minutes and we continued to wait on the second hole before realizing the group in front of us was considerably slower, it was two older couples who were enjoying their Sunday. We decided to go ahead and pass them by going ahead and teeing off on number 3. After passing them, we teed off right away and as our third group member was teeing off, the group we passed rolled up to the tee box. I asked if it would be okay for us to play through them since we only had 3 in our group. One of the two men in the group responded “well you’ve gone and done it now” I apologized and said “I know, I’m sorry we didn’t ask permission but I didn’t want to disrupt you while you were on the green. He then proceeded to say “you’re lucky I don’t hit one 4 feet off the ground right at you.” We ended up playing the third hole quickly to get out of their way and finished the 4th hole before they even got to the tee box.
I will not be playing this course again as the residents seem to feel like they own the course despite non-members subsidizing the cost of the course by paying greens fees. Not interested in having violence threatened against me when I was just trying to get a round of golf in a reasonable time frame. Our second 9 would have taken at least 3 hours had we not passed this slow group.
PURE!
get out there and play this course! they have 3 nines and all are fantastic. everything is perfect right now. get out there! its worth the drive from Dallas
