Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course
About
The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.
The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.
Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Wide open course
Worth playing and very forgiving. Bunker sand heavy and too resistant. Fairways a bit flat and not challenging enough. Placement of water is the primary challenge to the golfer.
Rude and Snotty
I purchased a tee time for Wildhorse @ Robson Ranch 45 minutes prior to the tee time. We arrived to check in and were told that the confirmation didnt matter and that they had booked a foursome of locals over our tee time. They said my only recourse was to take it up with GolfNow. I will not be going back to Robson Ranch. The clubhouse person was very snotty and rude to me and my 10 yr old daughter.
A Hidden Gem
If your schedule is flexible, you can usually find a very affordable rate to play here. Pace of play after 10 am is excellent...as I am usually able to finish 18 holes in less than 4 hours. While the course may not be as scenic as some would prefer, it's always in great shape and enjoyable to play.
Great condition & value
Beautiful course. It was in great condition, fairways & greens. This is a great value and fun, forgiving course to play.
Well kept course
Great conditions, friends staff and great prices when purchased online through golfnow.com
Fun course
Course is very interesting and presents good challenges for the average golfer.
Wonderful experience
Course is in great shape and no slow play. Staff was very friendly and the food and beverages were excellent.
WILDHORSE
I played eighteen holes but that was not an option on this website.
I have played this course several times and seem to make this course much more difficult than it actually is.
I had a tee time at 1:58 P.M. but was allowed to tee off about an hour early.
As usual, I inexcusably lost 7 balls, three of them off the tee box on one hole where I should not have lost one. All three were mishits.
Even without the penalties, my score would not have been very good. I would not have played to my handicap.
One needs a golf gadget to measure distances because distances are deceiving.
For the most part the course is in excellent condition except that some of the greens have damage.
Wildhorse -- Robson Ranch
Nice layout! A few quirky holes, but mostly straightforward and fun. Fairways are great; greens are really good. An enjoyable round of golf !
Great Course
This course is always in great shape. (The greens were punched when we played but a lot of courses do that in July around here). It is not an extremely challenging course overall but several holes require good course management.
Hot round of golf
The fairways were in great shape but they had recently punched the greens so a lot of sand and divots on the greens which made putting very interesting. I would not return until the greens have healed or if they greatly reduced their rates.
Wind can be a big challenge
Fairly open course so the wind can be a big factor. A few of the holes are a little tight with houses built along fairway. Overall I would say if you can't get a reasonable deal on golfnow it is overpriced.
Really enjoyed it. Great character.
I enjoyed this course. Plenty of challenge. Course knowledge and range finder helpful. Several blind shots to green. I loved it.
Best course I have played
I played the ranch for the first time yesterday.I was lucky, it had gotten down from 100 degrees to about 90, and a pleasant 10-20 mph wind.I am a senior, 65 yrs old, just getting back into the game.I live in Denton Texas.I only drive the ball about 230 yards so a more forward tee is the right distance, about 6500 yards. The course is absolutely immaculate. The fairways are like Augusta.I thought I was on a pga tour curse.A couple places where they had put some sand on the green was visible, but scarce few of those. The shapes of the holes, the clearly marked 150 yard markers, the true speed bermuda greens, it is perfect. And the large styrofoam cups with the ice and water dispenser are a big plus.I see no reason to ever play anywhere else .

As usual, we had a good experience. RR is he best kept secret in North Texas!
First timer
I’m from out of town and everything about the experience was way above average. Course was in great condition, rate was one of the best values I have ever come across. The only thing I would have changed was the weather, 102° at tee off. Most definitely will play Wildhorse again.
Very nice course; not very tough, though.
Very good condition, nice lay-out. It is not very difficult, unless it is your first time. Several shots would be easier if you had a sense of run-out or distance to hazards, etc.. I felt guilty for paying so little through the GolfNow special, as this was worth much bigger money! I'll be back to get those few shots back and bring my score down to where I think I could be.
Good course
This is a fun track to play. Not extremely difficult, course conditions are good, pace of play is also good.
A much better course than I was expecting.
My father and I played this course recently and I must say, I was very impressed. We took a later tee time, 3:34 pm, because my golf now app had a killer deal for us. The overall course was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I will say this, I've played a lot of courses all across the country and the very first par 3 on the front 9 is probably one of my favorite par 3's... setup like an island and surrounded by bunkers, so make your tee shot count!
nice course
Good course getting better every year. Great practice facilities.
