The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.

The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.

Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Cool Day in July...Greens are true.

Had a great day of golf. Course was challenging from the blues. Green are large but tricky...getting is half the battle.

Oh The Wind

We hada great time playing here for the first time. The staff was very friendly from the time we arrived at the gate to the Pro shop to the Marshall. Course was in real good shape and except for the wind it was great day. Since the course is wide open, windy days are tough to play but fun none the less. We'll be going back again.

No cart signs too far from greens lots of extra walking!

Too many sand bunkers and the no cart signs are too far away from the greens!!! You have to walk too much because of the no cart signs too far from greens.

Enjoyed the course, but food & beverage lacking

Played this course on a saturday morning to try and beat the heat and hoped to avoid the wind as well. The wind managed to find us. Wind added up to 30 yards on some shots. Course played very much like a links style course with little tree coverage to buffer the wind, which presented a good challenge. There were a few water hazards, but I only felt they came into play on one or two holes. Houses line most of the course. Really did enjoy playing this course, but the one thing that bothered me was the food and beverages offered by the course. There was not beverage cart driving around the course, so I decided to run into the grill area to grab a snack and a beer (front nine wasn't my best), only to find that the bar and grill were closed. Idk if they had weird hours or what, but you'd think saturday morning would be a good time to have your grill open. Despite this, I liked the course and would recommend it.

Good time

We tee off at 2pm Friday and it was wide open. We played at our pace. Course was in great shape. One thing, order food by the 8/9 hole. They don't have ready made hot dogs. If you're near Denton, this is a course to play.

money/services

Overall a beautiful course but if I want to spend $60 on an early Tee time, I wouls drive to Plano or Frisco. No food and beveragenor grill open on a Saturday. What sense does that make? Practice green was gorgeous, regual greens no comparison. Would not spend more than $30 to play there again.

Scenic course

This course would probably received a higher rating, but on the day we played the greens had been aerated. The fairways were in great shape, though. There are some really pretty holes with long views of the North Texas hills. Also, the native areas and wildlife add to the scenic beauty. It's not the most challenging course, so it's great for beginners and intermediate players. Course management is the key, but there are several holes where you can play aggressively. The staff is very friendly and helpful., though the selections on the cart were minimal. If you are hungry, I'd order food from the grill at the turn. I will definitely play here again. In fact, I'm looking forward to another round.

Amazing Golf Course

First time playing this course and this is now my favorite course. The course is in excellent condition, and greens are near perfect. It was quite windy when we played, but still had a great time. It is a challenging course, and you will use every club in the bag. Will definitely be going there again soon.

Good Course - Needs Better Course Setup Management

Overall Wildhorse at Robson Ranch is a very well designed course with challenges for all levels of golf. However currently the greens are so short and with a lot of wind as was the case in my most recent round, the course as set up was almost impossible to play. The greens needed more water to slow them down. Due to the wind the ball would get blown out of position on any kind of incline without being touched. This was exacerbated by so many of the pin placements being put on side hill or crest of hill positions. If you putted the ball up the hill and didn't reach the cup, it would roll back past where you started from. Unless they put more water on the greens to slow them down, I am unlikely to play there again until the growing season is fully underway. Otherwise everything else about the course and club is first class and the staff treats you very well. It is normally one of my preferred courses.

This is a great course.

This is a very nice course to play. I like that it has a good balance of holes that are long, and holes that play short. It has its holes to risk it, and holes not to risk it.

wide open

This course seems fairly new and is in a pre-planned suburban neighborhood. There were no trees on the course that were bigger than sprouts. it was a very straight course with few hazards. Greens however were very smooth and receptive. I recommend this place for a beginner, or someone who is good but needs a confidence boost. Might be better when the trees have matured.

Birthday Golf

Myself and a couple of buddies took another buddy to Wildhorse for his birthday. First time playing this course for all of us. Facilities were excellent, clubhouse and restaurant were great. Considering the time of year the course was in good shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good, just about 4hrs for 18. Lots of hazards made the course challenging and fun. Overall this course compares favorably to Iron Horse, Fossil Creek, Texas Star etc.

soggy

the course had had so much water put on it during the night it was like a marsh. ball plugged almost every where it landed. Not a pleasant round of golf on a gorgeous weather day. No excuse to have a course in this shape for weekend play.
