Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course
About
The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.
The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.
Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Great Hidden Course!!
This was my yearly birthday round, try to play a different new exciting course every year. This is a hidden gem for DFW area. Thanks Golf Now for the tee time price. Staff is very friendly and helpful, even gave me a course book(usually have to pay for these). Greens are very green and hold your shots and putt true. Fairways and teeboxes are in excellent shape. Course is not that long so I played from the Black (tips) and shot a 77. I'm a 5.7 hc. Also the highlight of round was making a 100 foot birdie putt on #15, very excited don't think I ever a made a putt from that distance before, have chipped many. I highly recommend the drive to Denton, TX to play this course. It's in a private housing development and even the gate staff was friendly and welcoming!! Will have to play this one again!
Very enjoyable to play and can hit all clubs in your bag
The course always seems to be in very good shape. The layout is challenging but not ridiculous. There are very few trees, so the wind obviously is a consideration.
this course was as good as any I've played in the DFW area over the last year.
Cudos to the ground staff at Wildhorse. The fairways were plush, the greens cut at exactly the right height and full and the overall appearance was better then any time I can remember.
Tough greens!
Really enjoyed the day here, good looking, well maintained course with broad fairways but can get into sand or Rough. Greens were quick and smooth with a lot of terrain!
Course was in great shape. Not to easy and not to hard.
This was my first time to this course and really liked it. Course was in great shape. Liked the layout.
Course was great
Really liked the layout of the course. Greens were a little fast, but the sand traps were nice, unfortunately I found that out, and the fairways were in great shape as well. Very quiet and in a good neighborhood, I will definitely go back.
Great deal Golf Now offered
I invited a couple of my friends to experience golf at Robson Ranch. They thought it was a great course and enjoyed the fact there was plenty of drinking water available, especially since it was the first 100 degree day of the year. I have played the course several times and all my experiences have been great.
Great place to play and live.
This is an ideal course to play and live. Nice golf community location. Course was challenging enough to make it fun. always love to come here and played.
Wide open
THis is a great place for an afternoon round. The pace has always been fast every time I have played Wildhorse. Hardly crowded in the afternoon.
This course has an excellent layout
The staff was very friendly, and helpful. The course was
in great shape.
Great Course Conditions
Course conditions are in fantastic shape. Its nice to play on a course with a good cushion on the fairways. Greens rolled true and in great shape. Pace of play was slow considering most foursomes had individual carts. Stacked up on one hole with 4 foursomes.
Wild horse at Robson ranch
Course Is in good condition, I have been playing this course since it first opened. Wild horse on the front 9 and you play mustang front nine for the back nine of your round. It will be even better when both courses are available to play. It looks like some of the back nine on both courses are ready but still not playable. Would like to be able to play both courses.
Nice course tucked in a retirement community
It's a nice course and you will hit the majority of your bag. It can get a little backed up in the morning but in the afternoons it clears out. That's the good part of it being in a retirement community. Normally well kept and green role pretty good.
Good golf course for any type of golfer
The Golf course was very well maintained... the only thing that I didn't like that much was the pace of the greens. I thought they where a little bit slow compared to what I'm used to playing... but I may be mistaken because the guys I played with said they where fast.
Nicely greens, great fairways
I am a beginner golfer and this course is one of the nicer courses in Western Denton County. I always judge a course by its fairway maintenance and this one did not disappoint at all. Very professional looking course.
Great conditions and a fun layout.
I've played this course many times and this last experience was very positive. I played in late afternoon and was finished in 3 1/2 hrs. The course is in great condition and is a great value when compared with other courses that have green fees that were 50 to 100 percent more and were fair at best.
I was a single and groups were good about letting me play through which can sometimes be a problem at other courses.
I look forward to playing there again.
Good experience.
The course was challenging enough, being a beginner especially. Great deal for the money. I personally would have liked to have GPS on the carts but there were enough markers that figuring out my distances, without a range finder, was easy. I will definitely be playing this one again.
Course is in great condition.
Great value, good conditions, great staff, what else do you want from a golf course?
Good course
Greens were really fast after a day of rain earlier in the week. I dont think it is very busy either since it is kind of out by itself.
Great course! Very nice...
Course was in great condition from tee to green on every hole! Great practice facilities. Only two issues; 1, the staff seemed to be less than friendly to anyone who's not a member, and 2, the pace of play was very slow. Almost 5 hours for a round was a bit much. Over all, a good experience.
