Course Highlights
Wildhorse stands out across greater DFW for its lush fairways, smooth rolling greens, and course conditions that hold up even through brutal Texas heat. Three distinct nine-hole layouts, a top-tier driving range, and genuinely helpful staff make every visit rewarding.

The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.

The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.

Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

This course has a lot of great features , great practice facility and more....

the course was in good condition , the greens could improve a little , had a lot of bumps where the holes on the green were last put . Always a little slow at the pro shop when attempting to check -in and pay . I have played there 7 or 8 times in the past month and I have never seen more than one person taking money and checking people in at the desk .

Great golf experience

I played my first round at Wildhorse on a windy Saturday afternoon. The facilities are fantastic, and the staff is super friendly. Everyone from the gate guard to the waitstaff greeted with a smile.

The course was in very good shape, soft fairways and well manicured bunkers. The greens played like they were cut at different heights but were by no means bad. The layout presents fairly wide open shots with only minimal trouble for those who can drive the ball 250+. There are a lot of elevation changes with help add some strategy if not difficulty.

All in all, I had a great golf experience at Wildhorse and look forward to playing there again. It is one of the best in the area for a relaxing, casual, quiet day golfing.

Playing at Robson Ranch

A really improved course since the hiring of the new superintendent. You can see that Robson has invested a lot of capital in course maintenance. The fairways and greens are much improved. Great value for the cost.

Very nice improvements to course since new superintendent. Fairways and greens noticeably better. Course offers a variety of shots and demands accuracy off the tee box.

Decent Course, #18 Green a mess

18 Green is in need of serious attention. By my count this is at least the 3rd time in 24 mths that a temporary fairway green has been in use there. Otherwise not a bad track.

Wildhorse GC was in decent shape but the greens were very slow and need to be cut. Course has little character.

First let me say that this was my first visit to Wildhorse Golf Club. I found the course to be in decent shape on 4-05-13 but the greens were very slow. Greens were actually in good shape but need to be cut badly. The course has very little character. It is like playing in a wide open field. There is little not no rough. I played from the back tees (Black). Most par 4's I hit 9,8,7 iron. The par 3's are the biggest challenge as a couple played 200+ yards.
No way would I rate this course a 4 star course just because the fairways and greens had grass on them.
I honestly don't think I would go back.....just a blah course where every hole looks pretty much the same as the last.

I tried to be fair and give it another chance. I do not recommend this course!

"I have played this course three times now and every time I have experienced trouble with the Marshals/Player assistants. The course is nothing spectacular. It is a challenging course strictly due to the hazards not being well kept.(not a compliment) The Course seems always to be slow. The marshals seem to be more involved with course challenges i.e. the placement of carts as you drive them than the rate of play by the groups in front of you. It is a very "Member" friendly course and though they are an open to the public course I have not felt welcomed as a non-member. The Good ole boy network is in full swing! The course is considered two nine hole courses once you are there. The Mustang and the Wildhorse So the tenth hole backup is extreme due to the number of people that take long breaks in the club house. They even have a sign after the 9th green telling you to check in to the clubhouse before going to the tenth.(Mostly members it seems.)The Pro-shop has no visual of the first or tenth tees so they are dependent upon the marshals input from radios. On my first visit we came to number ten straight off nine and were found to all of a sudden be behind 5 foursomes. None of these was in front of us but when we questioned we were told by the marshals that they were ahead of us. Frustrating to say the least. While it is a decent golf course, I will not play it again for the overcrowding and the poor management from the clubhouse of the member marshals. I don't play golf to be harassed. The last time on March 16th 2013 we left the 18th green to go to the chipping greens and were told by the marshals we had to park the carts and carry our clubs to the chipping area by the 1st tee. We were parked in front of the chippiing greens finishing our scorecards and told him our intentions. Needless to say he was basically accusing me of trying to start another round. I was offended to say the least. I spoke with the head pro and He said that he would address this but I dont have any confidence of change as these marshals are resident members who seem to have a power issue. The fact that I had run ins with the marshals all 3 times I played says it is a recurring issue. I average 2 rounds of golf a week and I have not had conversations with marshals for any reason on any other courses, so I dont think I am the problem. I will admit I have played each time on this course at dicounted rates, but that is not any reason to have a bad experience or be treated inferior to those paying full price. Not only that I refuse to apologize for being smart enough to get the discounts that the course makes avaliable. I say this because the person behind the counter made reference to this when asking about prices, I guess trying to make me and my partner "feel bad" or something. It won’t matter from this point forward and I will never pay full or discounted price for that kind of “golf experience " again.

Not worth the time or money

I have never written a review on any golf course and we have played several off of Golf Now in the DFW area but this one deserved a review. They have no drink carts, they had very little water in coolers on the course, they had porta potty's for bathrooms. The grill was closed at 4PM on a Sunday, the pro shop was closed at 4PM on Sunday so no soda or snacks available. The bar was open but you had to go to it because like I said there was no drink cart. No a good time at all, and oh yeah the marshals didn't do anything about the speed of play and we got 16 holes in 4 1/2 hours and it got dark.

Good value course. Alittle slow but worth the wait. Very laid back not a good course for the impatient. Needs a beverage cart person.

Nice for a quick weekday get-away

This is a nice golf course within a nice retirement community. Good for a weekday get-away. Folks are mostly nice and are playing to enjoy the game, which is refreshing. I mostly golf solo, and while playing yesterday, I was often invited to play along or pass on through. This made for a quicker pace. The course has some construction currently underway AROUND IT, so if you lose a ball, it will probably end up in a bulldozer seat or a ditch somewhere. The 18th hole had some repairs being done on one of the sand traps, and the coke machine (around hole 10?) isn't working, so I ended up without my soft drink, minus $1. Overall, small stuff for what you get with a great deal from GolfNow.com.

Great course for the right price...plus wind

Considering the course is still in winter conditions the round went fast. The course can be the windest in Texas at times and skill is needed for it.

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE

This Was The Second Time I Played This Course And initially I Was Excited And impressed With The scenery And Facility. It Didn't Take Long For My Opinion To Change. The Young Lady In The Club House Was Disinterested And Bothered To Be Dealing With Us. She Showed Poor Customer Service Skills. By The Time We Tee'd Off We Were Told Atleast 5 Times That It Was Cart Path Only? Needless To Say It Hadn't Rained In The Area For A Couple Of Days. Once We Were Out On The Course It Seemed We Were The Only Ones Abiding By The Rules , As Members Of The Course Were Driving All Over The Fairways And Were Quick To Hit Into Us And Hurry Our Play. I Would Not Recommend This Course To Anyone.

Nice course for any level

Greens were in pretty good shape for the middle of the winter, however there was still a temporary green on number 9 on the back just as it had been the last time I played there, which was about 6 to 8 months ago. I like the course.

Wide open yet challenging

Lots of dog legs and native grass brush/grass areas, yet wide fairways make this course challenging yet give you the feeling you've got a chance to do well on every hole. Our foursome liked the fact that although there are homes around the course, they are not on top of the course. Peaceful setting...right amount of water. We'll definitely play it again.
