The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Sunday at noon
Greens were nice and fairly quick. A target course requiring well placed tee shots. Sand bunkers were inconsistent. Good layout and some fairways were bald and firm.
Great value!
Very nice course! Would have been worth it at the regular price!
Well maintained
Nice course to play anytime
Great Course close to home.
Course is in great condition.
Challenging layout!
Played the course with a hot special. Greens are small and challenging. Fairway and Greens are good but a lot of the rough areas are sparse. Some areas even having sand burs. Still its a good course, challenging and fun.
Greens were great
Course is a little tight but it was the first time I played it. Would hit a lot more irons and hybrids off the tee. Greens were the best greens I've played in the price range I payed. Highly recommend this course! Can't be beat for the price!
Underwhelming not worth it
This course says it has country club aspirations, to be honest the course wasn't worth the hot deal price. Cement hard bunkers, inconsistent fairways some muddy soft, because of what seemed like a water break, and some rock hard, the course just seems poor maintained. I will not return, fossil creek is the best bang for the buck
u3462644,
We are sorry to learn you did not have a great experience this time around, and we'd be happy to discuss this further with you if you call the pro shop directly. We hope you give us another shot soon.

A Nice Golf Course
A really nice golf course, much more challenging than I anticipated. The course is not long. I didn't use my driver until the fifth hole, and didn't really need it then. Thare a lot of trees off the narrow fairways that come into play. A fair amount of water, and plenty of sand traps. The greens are fast and undulating. I was a little disappointed in the bunkers. The sand was pretty packed and looked like it needed to be turned over. Additionally, the water level in a lot of the ponds surrounding the greens seemed low. A very accomodating staff, and the members I played with were terrific!
bpkinder,

lumpy fairways.
Rough too rough. Fairways too hilly.

Knowledge of course is paramount
Definitely a course that requires prior knowledge of holes and placement of tee shots. If playing first time, then take your time to study yardage books and figuring out the layout of fairways and preferable targets.

Good track
It's a great layout, need a bite of water in the fairways, green where just punched and sanded. But I can see it is a nice track. I will play there again
Thank you for your review and feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the course and we look forward to seeing you again next time!
Slow play
The pace of play is horrible. When we let the pro shop know, they sent no one to speed thing up.
Dear tdean67,
We apologize for the lack of responsiveness from the Pro Shop employees. We hope you give us another shot soon, so that we may exceed your expectations next time. The next time you come out we will make sure that if you have a request, we will make it happen if plausible.

Nice Track!!
Got a hot deal on golf now for The Resort and this is definitely a FW gem! First time playing the course and as a previous review notes, this is a shot maker's course. Tight fairways, protected greens, sharp doglegs, and elevation changes makes this course challenging and fun. Pro Shop staff very nice and we saw the cart girl very often. Played with a "regular" so the local course knowledge came in handy as sometimes it's just as important to know where it's safe to "miss". There are only 2-3 holes you really need a driver on - a well struck 3wood or hybrid off the tee will put you in good position. Only issue I had was the dry and hard fairways and bunkers. I even had trouble pushing a tee into the ground! Even when in the fairway, I never felt comfortable taking a divot b/c I felt like hitting off the cart path - same w/bunkers. That said, I'd still make the 45 minute drive to play this course again.

The Resort
It was very hot that day which it is normal this time of year since we started at noon since I was doing it on a hot deal but it would have been worth full price. I can not say enough good things about this course and I will be going back now I know about it.

Highly Recommend
Overall the course was in great shape. The greens were fast, but firm. A few of the bunkers needed some work. Course knowledge is helpful....should have went with a 3 wood instead of a driver on many holes even from the blue tees.

Nice course; good value
Overall, this is a nice course. Many holes have narrow fairways, so the slope of 140 is well deserved, even though it's a fairly short course (the championship tees are 6,600 yards long). It helps to have course knowledge on several holes (e.g., 4, 6, & 18) because you can't see what's ahead. The greens were painfully slow when we played, and it was hard to convince yourself to hit the putt harder. Unfortunately, some sand traps were just hard dirt. Nevertheless, I readily recommend this course. The staff was friendly, and it was overall a good experience.

Getting Better All The Time
I love The Resort. This course has a very interesting layout, and holes number 6 and 17 come to mind when I say that. I love coming out of The Chute on 6, but don't much care for the blind shot over The Green Monster at 17. 16..the signature hole, and 18 the closeout hole, are vastly improved thanks to the recent rains, and the disappearance of some hard pan. Hole 15 has had a tee box arrangement which changed the ," My Ego Needs The Par", on this short par 3 into an, OMG--What's the Deal With this Long Carry" over the water. It was a special day as an old friend is leaving the state, and he has never played here before. I was hopeful that the rains had softened up things a bit, and they have. Now if they could just fluff the bunkers a little more with a shade higher grade sand, I'd be forced to give her 5 stars across the board.
Thanks so much for this awesome review, Berniez! It made our day to read, to be quite honest. It's nice to see why people like the course so much and what holes are their favorites. Also, thanks for your feedback about the bunkers! We'll definitely make a note of this going forward. We hope to see you again soon!
