About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Golfer Reviews
Good course if it rains during the summer!
I played this course last year during the drought, and the conditions of the course were terrible. The layout of the holes is amazing. If this course was taken better care of, it would be a top 3 course in DFW. This outing, I loved my experience at the course. The fairways were still a little burned in a couple spots, rock hard in certain spots, and a few dirt patches, but the greens and overall course was in great shape!
I would definitely recommend someone to play this course in 2015.
Good Value
The course is a challenging layout with water, traps, rough and some fairly narrow fairways. Lots of houses so if that is not your thing you will not like the course. Great pace of play as I was in and out in 3 hours. Had the course to myself it felt like. My only real criticism is this course gets dried out. While that helps your drives most of the tee boxes were like concrete. Placing a tee became work. But that is not much of a criticism. I had a nice time and will be back. Greens were in excellent shape.... fast enough and held shots well.
Good Course Could Be Great
I have played this course several times this summer, and I had also played it a couple of times a few years back. It is a very challenging design with narrow fairways, and excellent greens that roll like mini ice rinks in addition to featuring several ridges and plateaus. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. That's the good news, and it is very good news indeed. Here comes the hard part, but I want to stay objective.
As with lots of golf courses in this economic recession that has not yet recovered, several corners from the glory days gave been cut. The carts no longer feature GPS, fortunately I carry a hand held unit. The sprinkler system is currently being repaired, and that has left several holes designated as Cart Path Only. Fortunately we've had record rains here this spring and summer so despite several fairways starting to display hard pan conditions, there's not actually a whole lot of any particular spot that needs to be re sodded. The downside is that the greens keeper crew which has obviously been downsized has a hard time keeping up with the necessary mowing. This results into several balls disappearing into 3 - 6 inch rough, sort of an over penalization for the weekend warrior. After all, I can understand losing a ball that gets knocked out into the woods, or into the drink, but actual loss of ball for a shot that merely strays from the fairway is a bit much.
Thank you very much for your 4 star review and feedback. We do our best to keep up with the greens so that anyone who visits may enjoy it as much as possible. Please do visit us again soon!
They like 5somes..... 6+ hour round
This is not a bad trac........but when they let so many 5somes play! We left after 9 because it had been 3+ hours and did not want to play the second 9. They offer a nice rate but I would rather pay twice that amount and play where they pay attention to what is going on. LAST TIME FOR ME!
We apologize you are displeased with the pace of play during today's round. Please feel free to contact us at (817) 750-2178 if you would like to address this matter any further. We would like to ensure your time is spent well at our course.
Great time
The rain has helped this course. Everything was in good shape and the staff was very nice. I will play here again.
Thank you so very much for the excellent review. We always appreciate customer feedback and look forward to having you again.
Great day on the course
This course is challenging to some degree because of the water and sand but a great course to play. The staff are excellent and the course is superbly kept. If you want a great day of golf then by all means play The Golf Club At The Resort.
Thank you for the 5 star review. We certainly appreciate it. Visit us again soon!
Course needs maintenance
One would think after all the rain in the area that this course would be in good shape. I was very disappointed as to how the condition of tee boxes and the fairways. The course had more groups walking causing major backups throughout. Very discouraging...
Sloppy but awesome
With all of the rain in Texas, the greens here were AMAZING!!
great layout but missed the bar everywhere else
The staff is friendly and the course has a great layout. The turf is hard as a rock and there are bare spots everywhere. With all of the rain we've had I find this unacceptable. Very poor grounds keeping and pitiful greens added to my disappointment. This was not my first round here but it will be my last. I guess I will have to drive into town from now on. Too bad, because it could be a nice course.
Missing key ingredients!
Website stated carts had gps. They did not. Distance markers poor. Played several years ago, however the holes were not clear on scorecard, and without gps,we were hitting into blind areas, and so hit into hazards. Several holes in back corner, there were many golfers criss crossing holes. Lead to extreme back ups. Carts were not readily available. We had to walk into cart shack to receive one. No beverage service, that we saw, on course.
Nice Greens
Tee blocks and fairways were in rough shape. This could be due to the time of year. The greens were in good shape. The course is laid out well set amongst housing. Would play here again.
not worth it anymore
course was in terrable condition tee boxs were hard as brick fairways had a lot of hardpan surface greens were good .i doubt i'll play here again this course used to be one of my favorets
Timing
It could've been that sprinklers weren't in use due to recent rain, but the course was hard as a rock. Tee boxes and fairways were not in very good shape. The greens were very inconsistent, making it difficult to read them from hole to hole. One green would be damp and sponge-like, playing slow. The very next green would be dry and fast. With a little more moisture, it would be a fantastic course. Didn't expect the bar to not have hot food available upon opening. Had to settle for chips and a candy bar.
Needs maintenance
Poorly maintained, frustrating round, layout not friendly and confusing, would not play it again.
Needs some work
The greens on the course we're in good shape for this time of year. The rest of the course was in pretty bad shape. Although it is winter in Texas, most courses have some decent grass in the fairways; this is not so for the Resort.
Amazing Course
For it being winter this course was in great shape. I wish the weather had been a little better but it was a great day. Shot an 82 for my first time going and i can't wait to go back. Greens roll true, with good pace and pretty undulated. Only a little over 6,600 yards so not too bad on distance but this course will bite you in the butt real quick if you don't play it smart. I will definitely be going again but on a nicer weather day in April or May when everything will be nice and green.
Winter Golf
This course would be amazing in the summer with green fairways. No green fairway grass in Winter !
A few holes where to close together which made it slightly dangerous, you had to wait for other players to finish teeing off before you shot, unless you where
zero handicap player. Enjoyed the course.
