A very nice course with excellent discounted green fees. Many times am able to play here for the same money as other inferior courses.

I always enjoy the layout of the course and greens usually roll pretty true. Fairways are generally "hard pan" no matter what time of year it is and chipping areas around the greens are not great. The last two visits to this course, there have been no beverage carts. That being said, for the price paid, it wasn't a terrible experience.

Greens were in good shape and rolled very well! Would definitely recommend this course.

Second time to play this course. Golfnow.com is a great find. Easy tee times arrangements. Can't wait to play again.

Fairly easy course that is well maintained. Pretty far from our central DFW location, so I wold not frequent the course. Friendly staff.

The course's fairways were hard as a rock on most areas but the greens were good and fast. For the deal I got thru golfnow, it was a good value.

I have played this Course many times, always liked the course. This time was different, the place was in the worse shape I've ever seen it in. I appears they just stopped watering, or sure why but definitely will need to improve before I go back

The greens were actually some of the best I've seen in recent months, nice and soft and well cut. But the fairways were terrible, reminiscent of a cheap municipal course. The grass was mostly dried out and brown and the ground was hard as a rock in most places; so hard that it became a challenge to get under the ball and create a divot. Instead the club head just bounced off of the surface. The dry ground also caused lots of large cracks in the fairway just waiting to swallow up a ball.

The staff was friendly.

This course has a chance of being something. However, it is apparent that it's being managed poorly.
Start with the staff at the clubhouse. I guess it's a little difficult to smile when it's hot. (98 degrees was the high when I played)
So before I started my round, I made sure to have plenty of water and Gatorade. So I went inside to ask one of the ladies in the restaurant if I could take an ice chest into the course. "There's already one on your cart." Was her terse answer. What she didn't tell me was that the cooler had dirty water in it and no ice at all. I figured I had better get to the tee box and ai would ask one of the cart persons to give me some ice.
I guess they can't afford a beverage cart out here (I thought this was a resort?)
Then there was the absolutely ignorant decision of the greens keeper to water the course in the middle of the day. Don't take my word for it, just read this pull quote from an article in Southern Living Magazine: Stupid Lawn Tricks

"Using sprinklers in the blazing hot sun. Hello? Using sprinklers when it’s sunny and 95 degrees is dumber than swimming with polar bears. Practically all the water applied will evaporate into the hot air before ever reaching the roots. You might as well water the storm drain."
Not only were they watering with sprinklers, (I can almost understand the quick application of water on greens) but they were really flooding parts of the course. Take, for instance, the beautiful but quite narrow, No. 9. I hit one of the few good shots of the day on my drive and it landed about 260 yards right in the center of the fairway, a shot that should have carried another 29-30 yards. Unfortunately, because there was now a bog in the middle of the fairway, my ball hit and went "thunk." It was so wet there, that I Had to place the ball back and to the right just to take my second shot.
The rest of the round was just as disappointing as it was a combination of weird layouts, more overwatered areas and not one visit from a cart person.

Overall great course, nestled around the subdivision. A few tight fairways but not too difficult to handle. Would take a friend back.

First time playing this course. Everything was great except they punched greens and didn't water sand in. I should have called course before making drive to northeast side of eagle mtn lake. Will play again when greens are true.

The greens were the best Ive played all year.Course is in great condition.

nice course pretty challanging. needs to have more yardage markers to assist those of us without a yardage scope.

Grens were soft, but fairways were practically dead. Cracked in some places as if it is ready to begin eating golf balls.

This is a shot makers course. I never used a driver and only used my 3 wood about 3 or 4 times. Tee boxes were hard as a rock. Sometimes couldn't even get the tee in the ground. Fairways were also very hard and a lot of dead spots too which makes for great drives to be in terrible hard pan in the middle of the fairway. The greens were in decent shape and the bunkers were kept up nice. If this course was watered regularly I would recommend it but for now I wouldn't go back.

I played this course last year during the drought, and the conditions of the course were terrible. The layout of the holes is amazing. If this course was taken better care of, it would be a top 3 course in DFW. This outing, I loved my experience at the course. The fairways were still a little burned in a couple spots, rock hard in certain spots, and a few dirt patches, but the greens and overall course was in great shape!

I would definitely recommend someone to play this course in 2015.

The course is a challenging layout with water, traps, rough and some fairly narrow fairways. Lots of houses so if that is not your thing you will not like the course. Great pace of play as I was in and out in 3 hours. Had the course to myself it felt like. My only real criticism is this course gets dried out. While that helps your drives most of the tee boxes were like concrete. Placing a tee became work. But that is not much of a criticism. I had a nice time and will be back. Greens were in excellent shape.... fast enough and held shots well.

I have played this course several times this summer, and I had also played it a couple of times a few years back. It is a very challenging design with narrow fairways, and excellent greens that roll like mini ice rinks in addition to featuring several ridges and plateaus. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. That's the good news, and it is very good news indeed. Here comes the hard part, but I want to stay objective.
As with lots of golf courses in this economic recession that has not yet recovered, several corners from the glory days gave been cut. The carts no longer feature GPS, fortunately I carry a hand held unit. The sprinkler system is currently being repaired, and that has left several holes designated as Cart Path Only. Fortunately we've had record rains here this spring and summer so despite several fairways starting to display hard pan conditions, there's not actually a whole lot of any particular spot that needs to be re sodded. The downside is that the greens keeper crew which has obviously been downsized has a hard time keeping up with the necessary mowing. This results into several balls disappearing into 3 - 6 inch rough, sort of an over penalization for the weekend warrior. After all, I can understand losing a ball that gets knocked out into the woods, or into the drink, but actual loss of ball for a shot that merely strays from the fairway is a bit much.

This is not a bad trac........but when they let so many 5somes play! We left after 9 because it had been 3+ hours and did not want to play the second 9. They offer a nice rate but I would rather pay twice that amount and play where they pay attention to what is going on. LAST TIME FOR ME!
