Wilderness Golf Course

A little long for us old short guys, but a nice challenge.

This is always my first choice to play even though it's 40 minutes from home.

Course has always been in great shape, love the layout along with not seeing any homes surrounding course. Looking forward to some cooler weather and play more than 18 holes.

Course was in excellent shape and the layout is great. Several driveable par 4’s and several that play long. The par 5’s are fair. Course reminds me of low country Carolina. Can’t wait to come back. One of the best values and courses in the state IMO

This course is a gem. Great layout, nice big greens, which roll very consistent and the scenery is fantastic. You truly are in the wilderness. We drive in from Houston which takes about an hour but is well worth it. I have never been disappointed here and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this course. If you’ve never played here, do yourself a favor and go. It won’t be your last round.

After hearing about this course, I had to play it. The course was beautiful, the conditions were great. Front nine greens were sanded, but other than that, it was immaculate. Loved the layout.

Greens have been below average last 3 times I’ve played there.

The course is a hidden gem, well worth the trip. Greens were punched a few weeks ago, but really weren’t an issue., the tee boxes and fairways were in great shape.

The course is looking good and has some unique holes. Greens, fairways and most of the bunkers are really good. Pace of play was an issue; I was a single in a cart behind a foursome and couldn’t get past them even though I was on the tee box at the same time for several holes. I will give the course another try to see if this was an anomaly or not.

This place has a nice layout and is in very good shape, with exception of a few greens and bunkers. Interesting design and fun undulating greens. Only downside really is that the Ladies tees are too long

Course is in great condition tee to green.$36 green fee on July 4th. Nice layout challenging / interesting. Will be back soon.

Course was in great condition, fairways and greens were excellent. Staff is always great with customers.

I really appreciated the great condition of the bunkers. I was only in a couple, but having a bunker play like a bunker is really enjoyable. So many of the public courses in the Houston area have washed out or packed hard bunkers that are more like ground under repair than bunkers. Frequently, we declare our own rule that they are a free drop outside. No such rule at Wilderness. Outstanding. Fairways were in great shape, and the greens were nice as well. The greens had just a little remaining evidence of having been punched recently, but it didn't affect the roll. I wish the course were closer to me. I would play it frequently. The only issue I had was the starter bumping us back on our tee time to accommodate his friends just because they came up early for their tee time. It was not as if we were late. We approached the starter 7 minutes before our tee time while a group on the tee had not yet teed off.

Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Friday was perfect timing to play as we were not held up and nobody behind us. 3.5 hr round. Had a great time

So we drove from Katy, which was a little over a hour, and from entering the gates we knew this was gonna be great. The staff inside was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The practice areas were nice as well. The course property is just gorgeous. Challenging for sure and the greens were true. Had a great experience, will highly recommend and cant wait to go back.

Course was in great shape, nothing bad to speak of. Will be going back. The pin placement this day was tremendously difficult but made it interesting.
