Course Highlights
Sienna's layout earns high praise for its challenging elevated greens and diverse mix of holes rarely found in the Houston area. Affordable pricing, well-maintained fairways, and genuinely helpful staff consistently make this a top value pick.

About

Rating 73.7

The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.

In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.

Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.

On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.

Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Communication is a key factor.

At check-in we were not told that there was a girls high school golf tournament that was being played at the same time. When we got to the 13th hole we had to wait 30 minutes to play the hole because we had caught up with the girls high school tournament. We were unable to finish due to time constraints. We teed off at noon. I'm disappointed that the Pro Shop did not communicate to us the tournament was happening on their course before we date off.

What A Waste

Fix the water leaks and You can afford to water the rest of the course. Fairways are as hard as the cartpaths and painting the greens don"t help.

Mediocre course, slightly overvalued

There's not much remarkable about Sienna. The layout is pretty bland, outside of a few decent holes. Course was in OK shape for early November. At $60 for greens fees and cart, the value wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't great. Greater Houston has several better courses at the price. No complaints about staff.

Mid

The course has a lot of potential, but it’s not well maintained. No cart girls. If it has rained recently, it’s a mud pit. No personal carts is a bummer for Sienna residents. The only plus is it’s convenient if you live in Sienna.

Sienna Plantation Golf Course

Course was super wet without having received any rains . The Greens were good but fairways / approaches the greens and first rough were terrible .

No Cart service for beverages even though it was super hot .

The Marshall didn't come for the morning Tee Off’s and we were delayed 15 mins for our tee off and then he drove up to us on the 1st Green and asked us to speed up. We had a 715am Tee off.

The balls were getting plugged in the middle of the fairway and we couldnt find them on many occasions . This is a good course - Pity its not taken care off.
