Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Sienna in the rain!!!
Played my worst round by 15 strokes since Oct last year. But the course didn’t do it. The greens were fast and true until the rain hit. Fairways were fair but I could not hit one. All in all the course is in spectacular shape! Will go back soon!
Course Conditions Improving
It has been a few years since last playing here. I had heard reports over the years that course conditions had deteriorated but recently things were improving. I found the course to be in good shape. Fairways are very good. The greens had been punched and sanded but still rolled well. The course layout is superb, a fun track for sure. Definitely recommend.
Very good value!
Played for the 1st time today - Hot Deal was $32. Well worth the price. Greens are being worked on so a lot of sand there, but fairways were in really good shape. You will take a wrong turn or 2 trying to find some holes because there aren’t very many signs to point you in the right direction. But, overall, VERY MUCH WORTH the price I paid today. Will definitely play again!
Good Layout
Challenging layout but drainage is slow and some greens require repair especially Hole #16.
Beautiful course right in the middle of a neighborhood
Course is in good shape for the middle of summer in Houston. The only thing I would suggest is to bring extra water, as there were only a few places to fill up with water during the round.
Challenging course in nice shape
I have played this course numerous times. The pace of play always seems to be slow 4.5 to 5 hr rounds. Besides that the course was in the best shape I have experienced in a long time. Would recommend.
1st golf experience at Sienna Golf Course
Great looking course and experience. The greens are in excellent shape! The only concern I had is there was no beverage cart attendant on the course during my round of golf (between 11 AM - 3:45 PM), and no water coolers provided. It was a very hot day, so I left dehydrated and incredibly exhausted.
Course care is showing!
Sienna still a little rough around the edges, especially the edges of the greens. Fairways are in good shape. What impressed me the most was on a Friday morning at 10:30 on four different holes. There were people working with mowers and they were actually running the watering system on the greens. There’s definitely a level of care by the new course maintenance superintendent. I can only expect it to get better. The course itself is a test. If you don’t know it this was only my second time playing and I’m beginning to learn where not to hit the ball!
You are going to get lost...
If you have never played this course, you are going to get lost. Holes are poorly labeled from one to the other. Conditions of the course were good but overall we did not enjoy playing here and will not be returning.
$65 on a Saturday? Sure.
If you only want nice greens, I’d skip this course. I can handle bumpy fairways or even mix-n-match grass around the greens, but at least a quarter of the greens have some kind of sanded repair on them: some worse than others. But like the title of my review, for $65 on a Saturday, sure. There were three 4-somes ahead of us. Mid-20s boys out there just hacking away so we finished like 40 minutes behind pace. But, for $65 on a Saturday, sure.
golf course
the course is on great shape pace of play was not the bad
Good course for the price
Great layout here. The conditions can be highly variable. They’re currently in pretty good shape. We’ve had a ton of rain. The greens are rolling nice. The bunkers should all be treated as ground under repair as they’re filled with mud/dirt. Not sand. Fairways are currently lush. Some tee boxes are in very rough shape. Overall it’s about as good as it gets condition wise at the moment. Amenities are essentially nonexistent.
Sienna GC
Great course, nice combination of challenging and fun holes. Fairways were lush and well watered. Greens were well manicured with free of any blemishes.
