Course Highlights
Sienna's layout earns high praise for its challenging elevated greens and diverse mix of holes rarely found in the Houston area. Affordable pricing, well-maintained fairways, and genuinely helpful staff consistently make this a top value pick.

Rating 73.7

The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.

In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.

Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.

On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.

Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Course was in good shape

Greens are in best shape in years. All was good except the pace of play. Pulled up to hole 1 with 3 foursomes waiting to tee up before us and no marshall. Waited at each tee box most of the day. Fix that and this course is good.

Good course Pace of play unpredictable

We play Sienna a few times a month. The course condition is usually good and the greens are also in good shape.

The problem is inconsistent pace of play and poor active marshal management.

We were a foursome playing behind a threesome that was taking anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes per hole. The threesome would not let us play through. We saw marshall sitting under the trees in the shade and had to let him know. Marshalls should be driving the course observing pace and doing their job. The other problem at Seinna is that we have come up behind five somes that didnt care that they were slowing down everyones game. Again a Marshall should address the situation. So a 4 hour round here is not always the case. and the marsshals are not enforcing pace of play.

Much Improved!

Last year I retired and moved to Sienna. I heard Sienna was not a good course. When I first started playing, there was much to be desired. Last summer, the heat and drought didn't help either. There were large cracks that could swallow your ball in the middle of the fairway. Since then however, the course is much improved. They hired a maintenance supervisor who has been making significant improvements. He even put out a maintenance update with the work that had been done and work to be accomplished this year. They have been doing extensive work to the sprinkler system, have replaced all the flagsticks and cups, and even starting to put new sand in the bunkers. They have also trimmed a lot of the trees and cut down weeded areas in front of the tee boxes. The clubhouse has a really nice bar and the food is absolutely delicious!

Interesting and challenging course

I like this course quite a lot, but be aware that it doesn't drain very well so if there has been recent rains, expect the course to be very muddy.

Decent course

Enjoyed the course overall, but some holes weren’t in the best shape. Greens were being sprayed with green fertilizer during the round and some had some excavation going on.
