About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Golfer Reviews
Meh
I booked as a hot deal on Golfnow and upon arrival was charged an extra $20 as a "spectator fee" for my own cart, as they had assigned me to a foursome. The course was just okay. It was well kept but uninspiring. No desire to play here again. Rain prevented me from playing the back 9, so perhaps it is better.
Course appearance
I hadn't played this course in over 2 years. I finally came back because what I remembered it being like. I will not come back again the greens are terrible. I heard they got new owners. If they are the ones from Greatwood and Riverpoint I can see why the course is the the way it is.
pro shop help not accommadating
The course had a nice layout. Greens needed work but were somewhat challenging.
The driving range resembled a hilly pasture. Hitting areas were terrible. One guy brought his own hitting mat.
Now to my Review Title. For all of you GolfNow users, the pro shop person (Zach Soth, sp?) would not let us go off early. He said we could if we paid the higher fee. There was no one playing this course. All tee times 2 hours in front and back of ours were open. The negative trickle down effect of this kid's decision to get a few extra bucks is going to be exponential. He also didn't realize the economic effect on the poor cart girls. We don't usually drink until the back nine. By that time they were heading in and weren't going to make anymore passes because it was too slow on the course that day. He literally took money out of their pockets. We did buy one beer from them and tipped them well.
It will take a lot for me to give Sienna Plantation my business in the future. I understand that Greatwood and River Pointe are owned by the same company. I will see if their employees are all as ridiculous as at Sienna Plantation.
Nice Course
Overall nice course, it needs some updates at the T zones and few more sings to guide the player little better.
Pro shop manager was not accommodating
Got there early, warmed up and had 45 minutes to burn. We asked the pro shop if anyone was ahead of us. He said no but if we wanted to play another tee time we had to pay the higher fee. In fact the course had no one on it. Every time we used Golfnow no one has done that. In an effort to get more money on a very slow day, Sienna Plantation lost any money we would have spent in the future.
Fun course
It was a fun course to play with a great layout. The greens were in tough shape, but with this unbearably hot summer, it is no surprise. The only issue I really had was the the 2 groups of 5 in front of us. They didn't let us play through, so we had to skip a few holes to play at a reasonable pace. Otherwise, I recommend playing here.
Great course
One of my favorite courses in the Houston area. Great layout with challenging holes in a beautiful setting. Played for a very good price (hot deal). No course marshall to help w/5 some ahead of us or would have given this 5 stars.
sunday group
course was in excellant shape the greens were looked so so but rolled well.probably recovering from all the flooding and rain but look forward to playing there again
Nice course
Fairways in excellent shape. A couple of greens had some small patches but look like they were getting addressed. Good value at the hot deal price. I'll play there again.
doing greens maintenance
not a great, top dressing greens.
we weren't told before our round started.
discovered when we arrived, golf now charged
$30. dollars more than the course rate.
not a great day...
A good course
I got the hot deal so a great value for a decent course.
Fun layout
I enjoyed the layout. Tough set up for anyone who misses to the right. Greens were recently aerated so they were not the prettiest but they have potential. Pace of play was very quick.
Don't waste your money for horriable conditions
Played this course many times and the course conditions were always fair to very good.
My last experience ....the courses in in terrible shape, almost unplayable. No grass on the greens (really NO grass). You are putting on concrete and dirt at best. Fairways were almost no grass and hard. Tee boxes were so hard couldn't get a tee in the ground. Asked the starter if all greens were sanded like the practice green. "Don't know haven't been out on the course yet" ....all greens bad or worse than practice green. Fairly slow play with very few players on the course. Mr. Lopez (the owner, I believe) has turned a respectable course into a dog track just like the others courses he purchased. Sad for the residents of Sienna Plantation....such a nice area. Grill has very good food.
Needs a lot love
Nice layout but they need to reinvest in course maintenance.
Ok Course, Horrible Staff
We were there for a tournament. First Zack refused to provide range balls which were included in the prepaid tournament fee. Then, the starter refused to let us on because our ticket had $0.00. It's a prepaid deal!! Had to drive all the way back to the clubhouse, twice. Eventually, they (Zack and Starter) talked on walkie talkie. I am of the opinion that they should have done this right at the beginning instead of sending us back to the clubhouse. Once on the course, the marshall kept following us. When we asked why, he said that the ladies behind us "who are members feel delayed." This went on till the 8th hole, where we finally agreed that we would let them through at the turn. Believe it or not, they stopped at the clubhouse and spend half an an hour there, knowing full well that we were expecting them to play through. The saga with the marshall begins again on hole 10 and goes on till the end of the round. It took 8 hours to play this round and even at the end, when we complained to David the head pro, he was dismissive and called us liars. For ten years, we have played this tournament on a variety of course through out the Greater Houston Area. Never have we had such horrible an experience.
Gnats
The course is nice especially for the golf now hot deal!! Well worth it. The gnats were outrageous!! But I think that's true for most Ft Bend courses this year . The three some ahead were really slow!
No Thank You.
Plenty of tee times available on a beautiful Friday afternoon should have clued us in. The course is in rough condition. Teebox, fairways are rock hard. Grass around the green is non existent and the greens were barren and packed dirt/mud in many areas. The course needs to be watered. Gnats were everywhere, almost unbearable. The course has a decent layout and would be fun to play if it was maintained properly. Save your time and money and play elsewhere.
Very disappointed. Waste of money.
I played this course in the past when it was one of the best courses in the Houston area. Not any more. Thanks to the poor course management of Lopez Golf this course have gone way down hill. Greens are in horrible condition, fairways have little grass to offer a good lie and the tee boxes are a goat pasture. If I lived in Sienna Plantation I would be boiling mad a Lopex Management for letting this course get so bad.
Great Course & Better Value
The course has always been in great condition with a rather broad degree of difficulty overall. Some holes seemed a little too easy, while others challenged your golfing skills. Beautiful layout with some houses around, but not in play like most subdivision courses. Country club quality, enjoy!
Sienna Plantation Golf Course
This course and club have so much potential. However it is obvious that this place is in need of new management. Owner down to the staffs is outright rude. The restaurant is nice but then again the owner and staffs ruining it. The bathrooms are extremely dated and just plan gross. The locker rooms/storage is horrible. I also left my new range finder in the cart and return it to the cart boy without removing it. Return the next day and they don't even know what I was talking about or care about it. Unreal the golf course and amenities have so much potential in such a great and beautiful neighborhood but MANAGEMENT just run it to the ground.
Did you play the same course I did? Really 5 stars for this goat ranch. Obviously you need to go play a really good course in Houston and you might rethink this.
