Course Highlights
Sienna's layout earns high praise for its challenging elevated greens and diverse mix of holes rarely found in the Houston area. Affordable pricing, well-maintained fairways, and genuinely helpful staff consistently make this a top value pick.

About

Type Semi-Private

Length 7151 yards

Rating 73.7

The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.

In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.

Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.

On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.

Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Fun layout

I enjoyed the layout. Tough set up for anyone who misses to the right. Greens were recently aerated so they were not the prettiest but they have potential. Pace of play was very quick.

Don't waste your money for horriable conditions

Played this course many times and the course conditions were always fair to very good.

My last experience ....the courses in in terrible shape, almost unplayable. No grass on the greens (really NO grass). You are putting on concrete and dirt at best. Fairways were almost no grass and hard. Tee boxes were so hard couldn't get a tee in the ground. Asked the starter if all greens were sanded like the practice green. "Don't know haven't been out on the course yet" ....all greens bad or worse than practice green. Fairly slow play with very few players on the course. Mr. Lopez (the owner, I believe) has turned a respectable course into a dog track just like the others courses he purchased. Sad for the residents of Sienna Plantation....such a nice area. Grill has very good food.

Ok Course, Horrible Staff

We were there for a tournament. First Zack refused to provide range balls which were included in the prepaid tournament fee. Then, the starter refused to let us on because our ticket had $0.00. It's a prepaid deal!! Had to drive all the way back to the clubhouse, twice. Eventually, they (Zack and Starter) talked on walkie talkie. I am of the opinion that they should have done this right at the beginning instead of sending us back to the clubhouse. Once on the course, the marshall kept following us. When we asked why, he said that the ladies behind us "who are members feel delayed." This went on till the 8th hole, where we finally agreed that we would let them through at the turn. Believe it or not, they stopped at the clubhouse and spend half an an hour there, knowing full well that we were expecting them to play through. The saga with the marshall begins again on hole 10 and goes on till the end of the round. It took 8 hours to play this round and even at the end, when we complained to David the head pro, he was dismissive and called us liars. For ten years, we have played this tournament on a variety of course through out the Greater Houston Area. Never have we had such horrible an experience.

Gnats

The course is nice especially for the golf now hot deal!! Well worth it. The gnats were outrageous!! But I think that's true for most Ft Bend courses this year . The three some ahead were really slow!

No Thank You.

Plenty of tee times available on a beautiful Friday afternoon should have clued us in. The course is in rough condition. Teebox, fairways are rock hard. Grass around the green is non existent and the greens were barren and packed dirt/mud in many areas. The course needs to be watered. Gnats were everywhere, almost unbearable. The course has a decent layout and would be fun to play if it was maintained properly. Save your time and money and play elsewhere.

Very disappointed. Waste of money.

I played this course in the past when it was one of the best courses in the Houston area. Not any more. Thanks to the poor course management of Lopez Golf this course have gone way down hill. Greens are in horrible condition, fairways have little grass to offer a good lie and the tee boxes are a goat pasture. If I lived in Sienna Plantation I would be boiling mad a Lopex Management for letting this course get so bad.

Great Course & Better Value

The course has always been in great condition with a rather broad degree of difficulty overall. Some holes seemed a little too easy, while others challenged your golfing skills. Beautiful layout with some houses around, but not in play like most subdivision courses. Country club quality, enjoy!

Did you play the same course I did? Really 5 stars for this goat ranch. Obviously you need to go play a really good course in Houston and you might rethink this.

Sienna Plantation Golf Course

This course and club have so much potential. However it is obvious that this place is in need of new management. Owner down to the staffs is outright rude. The restaurant is nice but then again the owner and staffs ruining it. The bathrooms are extremely dated and just plan gross. The locker rooms/storage is horrible. I also left my new range finder in the cart and return it to the cart boy without removing it. Return the next day and they don't even know what I was talking about or care about it. Unreal the golf course and amenities have so much potential in such a great and beautiful neighborhood but MANAGEMENT just run it to the ground.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!

The gorgeous weather was ruined by the poorly maintained golf course and the incredibly rude staff. The course is in horrible condition with rock hard fairways with little to no chance to make a divot, greens that lack grass in many areas (basically hard packed mud), deep cracks in earth in many areas due to lack of water, etc. In addition, the staff threatened to call the police on my friend because he had a couple of Gatorades (no alcohol) in the cart basket. THAT IS CORRECT, THEY THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE!!! There are way too many other quality courses to play in Houston. Skip Sienna. You'll be glad you did.

Nice course, but tough to keep it in the fairways.

Most of the course, including both the fairways and the greens, are elevated, so that any shot that is not perfect, has a good chance of ricocheting off a side slope and heading in to trouble. Several shots which are marginally bad, can be magnified greatly on this course, which probably wouldn't happen on other more flat courses. Nice layout. Beautiful course, just seems to unfairly penalize some shots.

July 4th, we were the only ones on the course!

Never played here before, so we jumped on a great Hot Deal and went for it. Excellent layout and the course is in country club shape. Not too long or to short. It played very fair and the greens were in very good shape too. I would be willing to play this course anytime.

Sienna Plantation- Management

This course and club have so much potential. However it is obvious that this place in managed to just be barely open. The restaurant is okay kind of. However the bathrooms and dinning area etc... are extremely dated and we'll plan gross. The locker rooms/storage is horrible. I have never seen so many Ant piles on a golf course in my life. Unreal the place is so bad with such a large neighborhood, I guess they all go else where to play and dine.

Mosquito plantation didn't disapoint

This neighborhood course is in fairly decent shape, but was definitely worth the "Hot Deal" price that we paid. Overall I would say that the course was in average condition for November in Texas. Fairways and greens were in good shape and the rough wasn't too bad. You are definitely at an advantage on this course if you are able to shape the ball both ways. Our twosome played 18 in just over 3 hours at noon on a Wednesday. There was a single walker in front of us and another cart twosome behind us, but neither really affected our pace of play the whole round. We never saw a marshal or cart girl, but that was not surprising for a mid-week, mid-day round. My only complaint with the facility was the density of the mosquito population in several areas on the course, but with all of the rain we have had lately I guess that it is to be expected. They appeared to have personnel spraying, so at least they were aware of the problem and trying to do something about it. I would definitely play here again.

Great course with nice design and scenery.

Great course, nice layout, and excellent pace! We got tee time just before high school golf teams went off with no one in front of our group until back nine. Course in great shape with greens rolling very nice. Some greens a little dry in a few areas but overall very good condition! Will definitely play again!!!
