Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Its a Shame
Quality of the course and of the quality of the facilities was poor when I played. The greens were all practically dead and the club house as well as the restrooms on the course are run down in need of a make over. Its a shame because the course is in a nice neighborhood and you would expect more from a master planned community golf course.
Working on greens
The greens had been aerated and sanded, and were in very poor condition. The course is a good course - but the green conditions made it not worth even the hot deal price paid for this date.
Greens
Greens were in poor shape with no mention from the pro shop or online. This course has a great layout but until the greens are addressed, stay away.
Over Priced-Full Of Themselves
Great course on paper, but Sienna Plantation was in horrible shape especially for the money they are charging for green fees. I've played other courses that charged $15-$25 for green fees because they realized they're course was in so so shape. Sienna's greens were deplorable, not just one but all of them. It was like putting on ice. Going from Ice to concrete is not what I call ideal!!.
What Happened to the Greens???
Living in Sienna, this is my home course. I often brag about how well maintained the course is usually kept, but since I've played today, I was quite disappointed. The greens are horrific! What happened? Where are the ground keepers? For the price I've paid & the weather now, I expect the greens to be imaculate. Fairways are decent shape.
A little warm weather will help
Greens had just been over seeded , tee boxes are uneven and needed grass not weeds. Sand in the bunkers was perfect, when raked. Range balls all over the 18th fairway, I quit looking for my ball and just hit another.
Sienna plantation
Greens were appalling, worst our group have played in the Houston area and we play a lot of different courses. The course has potential but did not see any green keepers etc so to me it seems they neglect it.
Poor Greens
The greens are inconsistent from hole to hole, some were inconsistent even on the same hole, therefore one could never gauge the speed.
Challenging golf coure
This was a challenging, but fair course. The 18th hole a deceiving finishing hole.
Greens required attention
Greens are not the best of the course, they do required some attention. Given the weather in the area the greens should be in pristine conditions.
Great course, amazing views
I played this course with my buddies for my birthday mid-day on a Saturday. We stopped in for breakfast (get the breakfast tacos!!!), went to the range and hit a few balls. The greens are in great condition, some fairways had some patches. I think due to the wildlife in the area. There are alot of deer so I'm assuming this is why some fairways were dug up. All in all great course, and I will be back to play again!!
Beautiful course with a few rude members
It's a nice drive out to Sienna Plantation and great holes to drive when you get there. The course is pretty and interesting. Long par 3s add to the challenge, but repay you with a short par 4. The final hole is a cool par 5 with a split fairway. What Sienna needs is better on-course support. No beverage cart on a hot day and no marshals. Even though it was busy, the pace was fairly fast (4 hours). YET, the jerks behind us still hit into us three separate times while we were waiting on the group ahead to clear. I was ready to start hitting their ball back at them if it happened again. Finally we played through and got away from them. I don't know if I'll play there again, but hopefully they will fix this before someone gets hurt and they get sued. Otherwise its a great course worth the hike to get out there.
Excellent course for the money.
Nice views, a few holes is target golf, and a few holes is links style. You have to think on this course with several places to either go for it, or to lay up.
Decent course, fast greens
The course will challenge your game. On most holes, a good tee shot is essential if you are going to score low. If you have never played the course, go with someone who has, or at least go forward and take a look at the fairways before you tee off. Depth perception will play tricks on you from the tee box. Some fairways look narrow, but actually open up once you get past the trouble.
