Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Interesting layout but greens weren't great
Fun and challenging course. Price is okay if you get a Hot Deal. The course was in decent shape except for the greens. We played after a heavy rain, but it felt like we were putting on bumpy carpet. Pace of play wasn't great, maybe 4:30-4:45.
Horrible condition
I moved to Houston about 6 months ago and this is the worst conditioned course I have played so far. It's unfortunate because the actual layout of the course is great. The holes are challenging and there is a nice variety of holes. The greens were basically unplayable and beyond beat up. The fairways were horrible and tee boxes looked more like rough. Really disappointing.
Siena Plantation
Layout very good vs. most Houston courses.
Course condition very good, with exception for greens which is still in recovery mode- expect prime condition in 1-2 months with spring rain.
Staff very courteous- contrary to some prior reviews.
Would recommend
this dourse has bad
we are play today after 12am . too mach bad green.
Sienna Golf
Course was is good shape for winter play. They just sanded the greens. The fairways we're was dry, after a few days of rain. Good course. I would recommend it.
Worth the drive
Perfect weather for a round of golf and the course was in very good condition. Not the first time to have played it and it never disappoints. Would of been nice to have had a beverage cart on the course. Only draw back was we were behind a girls high school tournament and when we caught them the pace of play crawled. Played the front twice and then played the back nine. If you have never played Sienna Plantation get a deal on GolfNow and mark it off your list, you will not be disappointed.
Very interesting layout
I've loved this place since the first time I played it. Conditions are really good. The only flaws noticed were that the 9th and 18th greens were a little bumpy on the back. There are some very interesting holes here. Numbers two, four, sixteen and eighteen come to mind.
Sinna Plantation
Course has good layout and some interesting holes. Work was done to improve greens in Fall 2014 and greens were better. The question will be is how they develop in summer conditions
Great challanger!
Lay up or go for it, your options! Fun course with plenty of challenges to shape your shot.
Greens still need time to recover
Greens were not in good condition even though course recently opened after rework on greens. Not worth paying rate with greens in current condition.
rude people
I read all the reviews rude people hitting into groups and people blocking others from playing through because of the amount of golfers they let play , I dont think ill ever play this course , and to top it off the course director was rude also , I will tell my friends not to play this course .
lso
Sienna...rude & underinformed
Gentleman at the front desk was rude & greens were being worked on & that was never mentioned. Played at least 3/4 holes with workers & machinery present which was unsettling. Shame too as this is usually a nice place to play.
Horrible exeprience with staff, specifically the "director of golf"
Had a horrible experience here. Booked my round through GolfNow.com only to learn I would be playing behind 7 or 8 groups of fivesomes on a Friday afternoon. Then was treated like a non-paying customer because the round was discounted. We had one of their regulars threaten us and run his golf cart into one of ours because we went around them at the turn when they went in the clubhouse. We left after 9 holes to avoid being attacked again. I was promised returned phone calls by the "Director of Golf" but he never called. After several attempts to resolve the issue and making numerous phone calls up the chain of command over the course of 2 weeks, they finally offered to rain check 9 holes. I couldn't imagine stepping foot on this golf course again after the treatment I experienced. The Golf Course was not responsible for the actions of the player but the customer service afterwards was the worst I've ever experienced. All I wanted was a rain check for another time to get away from the irate golfer, they made me feel as if I was the offender.
Nice Round
I had heard that the course was in bad shape, so I was hesitant to play, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are some real bad spots on some greens, but they only affected one of my putts - maybe that was just luck. Otherwise, the course is in pretty good shape with all the rain we've gotten lately. I hadn't played here in a while, so I was reminded that the course has some interesting holes as far as strategic shot selection goes. Otherwise, it is your typically Master Planned Community course. I would say it's value is in the $40 range for this area.
great layout
great layout but greens are poor. not worth the price even with golfnow
Putting Green
This course was designed very nicely. It would be very good if putting green manicure better.
Greens
Fairways nice! Greens horrible!! Needs work for that cost. Lost strokes because the condition of the greens
Good layout but greens are horrible
The layout of the course is good, but the greens are lost. They are trying to save them but best idea would be to dig them up and start over.
There are NO markers telling you where the next tee is. So if playing for the first time you will get lost a few times.
Staff seemed annoyed I showed up to play.
Nice Course...but
To frame this up a bit, I'm a very high handicapper with only one year under my belt playing golf. The course was nice as the fairways were in good shape and the teeboxes were level for the most part. The greens were a completely different story. There were several that had been patched with sand to fill in dead spots and I'm not sure if it was fungus or what it was but the greens were not in good shape at all. It affected all of our putts to say the least.
Its a Shame
Quality of the course and of the quality of the facilities was poor when I played. The greens were all practically dead and the club house as well as the restrooms on the course are run down in need of a make over. Its a shame because the course is in a nice neighborhood and you would expect more from a master planned community golf course.
