Hill Country Golf Club - Creeks/Oaks
About
The Creeks Nine is one of three courses at the Hill Country Golf Club. Named after the creeks that meander through the layout, this course demands accuracy with water coming into play on several holes and numerous strategically placed bunkers. There are also wooded ravines and a variety of elevation changes to keep golfers on their toes. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. The courses are situated on over 200 acres of scenic Texas Hill Country, giving them each a beautiful landscape of rolling hills and lush meadows dotted with native oak trees and clear blue lakes. Hill Country Golf Club is also home to a driving range and putting green on addition to the three nines.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Course is in below average condition, similar to the Alamo city golf trail but with higher prices. Layout is great, the starters and pro shop staff were great as always. The beverage/snack employee was unnecessarily hostile and unpleasant (twice now).
Good times
Starter was very friendly and accommodated us for our father birthday. Pace of play was great and the course was a good time.
Course was in very rough condition
For the price, the course should have been in better playing condition.
Greens we’re in ver bad condition and the fairways were bad as well
First Round of the Year
The course was in good shape with the exception of the greens. Very very slow, bumpy and filled with ball marks. The driving range was closed when we arrived and unfortunately, the putting and chipping green was a pretty accurate reflection of what we would find on the course. If I had read some of the past reviews before booking, I would have looked for somewhere else for my son and I to play.
Greens
The greens need to be mowed. They were slow and shaggy.
This course used to be one of the best in town, a fun layout with 3 different 9s. Now, the conditions are terrible: overgrown bumpy greens, dead patches, weeds, dirt patches, overgrown trees, rude staff. Sad to see a once great course in worse shape than most munis in the area.
Beautiful and well designed
(3) 9-Hole courses makes this a perfect round if the pace gets off a bit. Beautiful course.. I played Creek and Oak. Didn’t really live up to the name “Hill Country” as there weren’t a lot of hills. Great course though
Thanks Hyatt Hill Country for a fun afternoon!
Everyone I had the pleasure of interacting with at the course was very friendly and welcoming...and given a mid-week round I was very pleasantly surprised to have the beverage cart out, thank you!
On this day the rotation was The Creeks and Lakes 9’s. While I was scheduled to be paired up with others, I got to the course early and the Starter was able to get me rolling early as a solo so my round was very quick at a little over 2 hours. Both courses were in decent shape and the greens were nice and soft and receptive, haven’t had to fix this many hallmarks in quite awhile (partly from hard greens and me missing the green!).
I enjoyed the mix of short “risk-reward” Par 4’s and very long Par 4’s...both of which you need accuracy off the tee. On both 9’s the greens were very well protected, whether it was water, sand, woods or the fact that most were elevated so all in all if you miss the greens you better have your “A” game to get up and down.
Lastly, be very careful with distances on the GPS and be very aware of a couple holes with hazards before the real hazard (can’t recall the holes and I misplaced my scorecard) where I juiced my layup shots and found trouble I didn’t realize was there.
All in all a really fun round of golf, and that’s what It’s all about...having fun, right?!?
Not a fun course
This course has three different 9 holes, Oaks, Lakes and Creeks, with Oaks being the most difficult of the three,
the Saturday that we played, at check in they tell us at the pro shop that we have to play the Oaks course twice because they had a big tournament on the other two 9's, which of course we weren't told when we made our tee time, there were no range balls, only for the tournament players, chipping area is under repair, several greens were in really bad shape or had sections under repair. Not a fun day playing this course.
A Hidden Gem
Wonderful layout, some challenging holes, picturesque, greens good but not great. Excellent golf carts, GPS not accurate. Excellent practice facility. Overall a great value.
