Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Oaks
About
Hill Country Golf Club offers three nines, all of which sprawl across 200 scenic acres of Texas Hill Country. The terrain is provided with rolling meadows and steep hillsides dotted with tranquil lakes and ponds that come into play throughout the 27 holes. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. From wooded ravines to tree-lined fairways, this nine is a demanding test of accuracy. There are strategically placed bunkers and water comes into play on a few holes. The courses, which were designed by well-known architectural firm Arthur Hill & Associates, have received praise from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Father & Son Outing
Course was great just happened to be a very windy day. My son still beat my butt!!!
One of the hill country's best
First class facility that you should play. Three nines with plenty of variety.
Nestled in the native oaks
Great courses, played two of the three different nine hole options (lakes to creeks). The course is well maintained and is always a joy to play. Friendly staff and very accomodating. Can not wait to play here again.
Fun course!
Played this course a few times. Staffs are always friendly and course is in good shape. However, I'm disappointed the green side bunkers condition. They are mostly hard packed dirt and very little "sand". Bunkers need some TLC.
I love the course layout. There are holes requires very precise shots to have a good score. Greens are well kept and rolls true. Will be back for more.
good variety of holes, views and scenery, But.....
Waited awhile before I could get a hot deal for this course. I'm glad I did and didn't pay the 85 dollar tee times that were offered. First off, had to park 4 blocks from club house since they have very little spaces dedicated to golf course. Had to watch out on first hole of Creeks course since driving range balls littered the fairway. Bunkers were filled with hard dirt, not sand. Some greens had bare spots in the 2-3ft range we had putt through. Its a nice course, but not for the money they charge. Silverhorn, Canyon Springs or Cedar Creek will give you the same features for less.
Fun course
Really enjoyed courses pace of play and friendly manner of staff. Played with a member which made round lots of fun knowing all the course tricks and traps.
Will go back !
Very nice golf course
Well maintained with beautiful scenery. Bunkers need some work but I was told they're being replaced next year. I would play it again!
Good Resort Course
For a resort course it can be quit technical, you will use most of the clubs in your bag. All three nine hole courses are good and the greens are usually in good condition. There are a lot of blind holes, which can be difficult to navigate effectively the first couple times around. Fortunately, the carts have good GPS map screens with critical yards marked. Overall, it can be a little pricey but you should enjoy your time.
Oct 9
I played the Lakes and Creeks course. The lakes course is a little tight and some blind shots from tips. Creeks course is one of my favorites very good golf holes with lots of character.
Fun time
Got out early before everyone else so played really fast. Course was in good shape and greens rolled pretty fast with lots of undulations. Course friendliness was ranked low - no bag drop, no one to great me and no one offered to carry my bag even thou there were staff around.
This course is great, has different condition
Fairway condition is excellent. Green is tough. Bunker is not good.
Jose
Great staff, very professional and friendly
Great conditions, great fairways
Challengeing, the green and the set up
I will recommend to my friends
Availability
First time player at this site. Staff were most helpful. Course in great shape. Took me on as a single and zipped thru the course.
Hot course
Hot day!! Course was in very good condition. Couple of greens had bares spots, but given the heat, very good. Fairways excellent.
Hyatt hill country
Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play under 4 hours and greens rolled true. One of San Antonio best golf course to play.
TIGHT DRIVING ON LAKES COURSE
FOUND THE LAKE'S 9 HOLES TO BE A CHALLENGE FOR DRIVING THE BALL OFF THE TEE. SHOULD HAVE PUT THE DRIVER AWAY AND WENT WITH THE THREE WOOD MORE OFTEN. DROVE THRU THE FAIRWAYS ON THE DOG LEGS. NO FAULT OF THE COURSE, JUST STUPID PLAY FROM MYSELF. FAIRWAYS ON THE LAKES WERE TIGHT, BUT THE GREENS ROLLED REALLY GOOD AND VERY FAIR. THE CREEKS COURSE WAS PRETTY WIDE OPEN AND THE GREENS WERE ALSO VERY GOOD. THE COURSE WAS RAIN SOAKED THE DAY BEFORE MY SCHEDULED TIME, WHICH MADE PACE OF PLAY AROUND 5 HRS (CART PATH ONLY), THAT WAS THE ONLY DRAW BACK. REALLY A FUN COURSE AND WILL GO BACK.
Great day of golf
Played as a single on the Wednesday after Labor Day. Course not crowded and in in great condition; played in about 3 hours. Staff was very frendly. The course has a few tough holes, but overall it is great for an average golfer from the intermediate or for an advanced golfer from the tips. Lots of oak trees, but fairways wide enough to keep out of trouble.
Great facility
Course is in great shape. The staff was very friendly. Only bad thing was they are punching the greens this week. But still very playable.
Good job
Very pleased with the experience... Starting with the pro shop to the starter and the grounds crew on the course!
Great Course
Course was in great shape and price is reasonable for such a great course.
