About
The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
Directions: 20 Minutes from downtown. Take U.S. 90 west to Texas 211 (2 exits past loop 1604) and we on the right. From downtown take 90 west to Texas 211.

Had fun
I enjoyed my day off here. Decent course if you can get a good deal. I did have big trouble with pace of play. I had 4some in front and a group of 2 behind me that was relentlessly on my tail. I don’t mind waiting for the group in front but that group behind me rushing me was pretty annoying. They should maybe spread out the times just a little more but if not for that it was an enjoyable experience. If the price is right i will come back
Fun Course
Really enjoyed this course, staff is super friendly and helpful. The only issue that kind of was a drag is the pace of play, had some big groups ahead, foursome and five walkers and so it took 4.5 hours to finish.
Nice course for a round of golf
The course was in pretty good shape. Loved the wide open fairways. The clubhouse was also nice. Food was really good and the beer nice and cold. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Pacing
Pacing was so slow.You wait 5 minutes per every tee box..There was no Marshall to speed up the pacing.The course was in perfect condition.
Fun Course to Play
This course had just the right amount of challenge. There are enough bunkers and hazards to make you think your way around the course.
Enjoyed the day
The course was in good winter shape. The starter was very courteous to show us some tips about the course. Layout was quite wide open with few trees, but still enjoyable golf.
