About
The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
Directions: 20 Minutes from downtown. Take U.S. 90 west to Texas 211 (2 exits past loop 1604) and we on the right. From downtown take 90 west to Texas 211.

Beautiful day golfing with a couple locals
We are passing though and found this wonderful staff friendly course.
Greens were beautiful.
Challenging course.
Great weather today.
Overall a nice course.
Down from WY
Greens slow but smooth and consistent with great contouring and fun green complexes. Fun and challenging.
However, we went out as foursome and played in 3:50. So not slow by any means, but way too many singles in carts zipping around. We let 6 singles through. Fine. We still played fast, but it gets old in a hurry letting people through every 3 holes. Pro shop or Marshall should put some of those many singles together.
Fun course
Very fun course. Wide open fairways. Good sand in bunkers. Would play it again for sure
Went because of Golf Now deal and it was close.
Fun course with some interesting challenges. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good cart and nice course layout with grade changes and right/left doglegs. Would play again.
Tee time
The friendliness was on point, however I was not notified there was a mini tournament going on which slowed two groups ahead of me down as well as myself. I ended up missing out on the last 3 holes due to time. Not that I didn’t coordinate my time right but at the fact that I was notified of things.
Great little track in San antonio
First time here and I will be back during my stay. Great value, nice course with some tricky holes and cool layouts (especially the back 9) Staff was awesome, food was good too. If you’re looking to kill an afternoon come to this place or work on your game at the range, putting green, or short game area. Nice facility
Unprofessional staff
I don’t expect a red carpet or a warm towel when I show up but the folks working the front could use some help with how to properlily interact with customers and conversation etiquette.
There were other people there in line and they all felt the same way. People had simple questions but the condescension answers were unnecessary.
Oh and I played here 4 times, and I thought it would get better each day??? Nope!
Great course
Really enjoyed this course. Paid online and everything was ready at the check in counter. Clean facilities and great putting great. Starter was cordial and offered a few tips for the course as it was our first time. Will certainly come again.
