Nice course, pretty scenic, polite staff, refreshment cart made several loops on the course. This course is more challenging than it appears. Undulating greens, blind tee and approach shots, forced carries and some elevation changes make it pretty tough. Greens were fast and a little beat up but understandable with the recent lack of rain and hot temps. I’ll enjoy playing it again, lack of course knowledge easily cost 3-5 strokes that I look to improve on. Good value overall for a weekday round.

You won't find a better course in Lake County, IL.

I had played this course many years ago and wanted to get back to try it again but sadly the course was not in very good shape. The greens were something I would have expected from a city municipal course. Some of the rough near the greens was a bit too shaggy as well. Frankly, many of the hole are also unnecessarily hard off the tee with all carry and no bailout areas. It is also slightly inconvenient that they won't allow cart in the parking area. On the plus side the amenities and staff are nice and the round went at a good pace. On the downside, this course is very far away for many people.

Very challenging course with picturesque holes that are well spaced out with no houses.

The entire process was so easy. The course was in great condition, staff were great and the greens rolled fast. My buddy and I found a really good deal on Golf now too.

It is too much to pay top dollar to play a 5 hour round of golf. Course was in great shape but we couldn’t get into a Groove waiting on every shot. No ranger in sight. Love this course but not worth the money spent.

This review is for late May after quite a bit of rain recently. I know some courses are closed due to wet conditions, and honestly this course shouldn't have been open. I can deal with softness and some mud, but this was uncalled for. Many bunkers were basically ponds. Several holes with fairways basically turned into ponds or morphing into the marsh. Worst of all are many hits took the course with you since it was so wet and soaked. Let alone the mud everywhere.

I've played on soft courses, but wet courses are terrible and horrible to maintain in good condition. This course drainage system didn't exist. Parts of the fairways looked beat up because it was too wet for normal play.

Mind you, I walked it due to covid-19 restrictions in May. Somehow the people behind me got carts, but they didn't look like they needed them at all. In fact they could have used the walking. Because of them breathing down my neck since they didn't have to walk at all, and the group in front me was moving slow since they hit from the blues without the additional distance to justify hitting that far made the pace of play out of wack. In fact, they were painfully slow, even with a 15 min gap. Overall I was disappointed, and I want to try it again after the course is dried. The course shouldn't be open after some rain since it can't handle it.

Wide open fairways, fast greens, and lots of hazards make this course a great challenge. The layout has challenges for lots of shots and you can be creative as you approach, unlike a lot of other area courses. The greens are large so you’re rewarded with a decent approach and the tee options are actually worthy of choosing a set that matches your game. This is a golfers golf course, not something for people who want to putz around and tap the ball.
