Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Course in good shape
This is a fun course and the staff was very good to work with. I see several reviews about slow play. This may be the case in weekends however Wednesday afternoon it was pretty wide open. The r boxes are in great shape, fairways are decent, and the greens are in average shape. The out of bounds area is washed out after what appears to be a lot of rain. If you hit your ball OB it’s gone!
Overall enjoyed the course is fun and challenging, would recommend and would play again.
Pace of play horrible
I played this course today for the first time and had a horrible first impression. Greens are in horrible shape and have no rollout along the fringe of greens. None of the bunkers were racked recently. It was like hitting out of cement. Pace of play was terrible. It took 4 and half hours and only got in 14 holes. Never saw a ranger to report the issue except when they came and told us to bring in the carts. Not worth the money. Driving range was only bright spot. Customer service was not great either at club house. I do not recommend this course.
Slow Play
I only play here as a last resort. It's always a five hour round. They either have too many tee times per hour or poor marshalling,
4hr 45 min pace of play
Another weekend round where management over booked the course. Everything was full: the course, the parking lot, and the driving range. Our group was stuck behind another group that had no business hitting from the tips. The Marshalls didn't do much. At least the weather was pretty and the course looked great while sit waiting for the group in front of you. They finally mowed the OB stuff so you can actually see the fairway from the tee box on hole 8. You can already tell the winter grass and poana are taking over the tee boxes and greens... Hopefully they can stay on top of that so the course doesn't look terrible again when summer 2024 comes around.
Teravista - 11/14/23 - Perfect Weather
Very very average course. Wet, muddy and bogged down. Clubs and towels were a mess after this round. No hole descriptions, no visuals near tee boxes, on carts or on scorecards. Tee boxes rutted up. Fairways were in good shape. The rough was overgrown and in bad shape hard to find balls. Greens were in decent shape but slow as Christmas. I don't really understand what is going on with the OB and all the over growth. Some 6 to 10 foot over grown mess jolting out into fairways. Pace of play was atrocious. Waited for one guy to drop 4 and 5 balls on multiple lies stacking up the course. Marshalls MIA. The driving range is nice but has no side nets so when you get to hole 17 or 18 there are range balls littering the fairway. So finding your ball is a nightmare esp if it's anywhere near sunset. (If you're playing with a yellow ball, godspeed!) They also don't offer a veterans rate, pretty lame I must say. Didn't see a cart girl 1 time for refreshments. All in all this is a MAX $50 course on the highest of high sides. A lot of the public courses in Austin get away with murder cause there are so few which sucks. This is definitely one of those courses. Would recommend in the event you can play this track for $50 or less. Otherwise I do not recommend.
Teravista
Decent course but super bogged down, wet and muddy. Rough was in bad shape, hard to find balls. OB and perimeters are a lost cause, super over grown and don't make a ton of sense jolting into various fairways. Greens were in good shape but slow. Pace of play was a nightmare had 1 guy taking 4 and 5 shots per lie holding up the flow through every hole. Wouldn't spend a dollar over 50 bucks to play this track again. Wish Austin had more public courses!
Good value.
Good value. Course in good condition. Excellent driving range. Very friendly staff. First time playing, but will be back.
This course is great, and it great shape right now, but they have too many tee times and it really backups. Don't count on 5 hours or getting done if you start after 2:30 even before daylight savings. It's a problem that been around foreverr with all the courses this group manages. There aren't enough local public courses and they know it so your stuck with what you can get.
Not my first time.
I have been playing the Teravista golf course for close to 20 years. Back in the Troon golf ownership days with the mango-scented ice towels at the turn.
I love this course, from the beautiful elevation changes to the nasty number 4. Love it all.
The only issue I had that day was the bunkers. I know I'm not supposed to be there, but I found the sand, or lack of it, not great.
The greens roll tremendous, and the fairways are green.
