Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Horrible pace, home of slow play!
Decided to give this place a try again after not going for 2 years due to bad course conditions and pace of play sucked, i made the wrong call. I thought playing on a weekday would have better pace but i was wrong. Played 3 holes in one hour so we were on a 6 hour pace, awesome (sarcasm). Also the fairways did have some grass but was super tight lies which sucked. Greens had some weird type of grass/disease going on, slow and bumpy.
I won't be going back to this course but if you want to spend a whole day playing a round, hot off tight lies and wait to hit a shot every 15 minutes, then this is the course for you.
Don’t book with GolfNow
Anytime I have booked with GolfNow for Teravista, there has been issues. Two times now, golfnow doesn’t send the reservation to the course. Show up and they can’t find me in the system.
5 hours 40 minutes
This was the longest round of golf I have ever played. We teed off at 1:28 on time and got done at 7:07. The course could have been Augusta with free beer and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. For $100 I expect to be able to go out and play a round of golf at a reasonable pace. The course was in ok condition but I expected better for the price. All in all NOT worth the price and at that pace I expect the course should be paying me an hourly rate
Rude, Inattentive Staff
The round took 5.5 hours. There is absolutely no reason a course should play this slow. There was a marshall out, but he sat on the 9th hole rudely chastising people about cart path rules. He did NOTHING to improve the pace of play. Won't ever play here again.
Horrible staff
Staff was incredibly unfriendly. When I walked in the pro shop they were in a heated argument with someone and when I go to check in for my tee time I was told they didn’t have enough carts to go around even though I already made and paid for a tee time. I ask for a refund or rain check and they said that has to go through their GM who doesn’t work on the weekend and doesn’t have a phone number to call. The golf course is nice and well maintained but the staff is too unfriendly and it only seems like they’re out to make the most money possible and don’t care about the people paying to play. Therefore, I can’t recommend this golf course and will never be going back.
Weaver
The guys at the counter are less that trained . Talking to older men that have played golf their whole life like they are 10 yr olds . Find new people that care about people & that they have a great day of golf . Poor poor . Billy weaver I play 3 days a week & hold a usga of a 3 . I know what I’m talking about .
Thumbs up again Teravista
Had a Sunday 12:40 tee time. My regular golfing buddy and I met up with a couple from Canada and the 4 of us played in about 4:45. Teravista is a nice course with a decent layout. We played from the blue tees. Fairways were decent, and greens were very nice, particularly for this early in the spring. The only two complaints I would have for them is that NOBODY rakes the bunkers or fixes their divots. Some of the blame I'll put on T.V. Not enough rakes around some of the bunkers. But if the starter would just make folks aware of those two issues, it would at least have a chance at making the place much nicer. Beverage cart was never to be seen yesterday. Overall a fun day on a nice course.
Course was in good shape for March. Greens rolled well and the fairways had plenty of grass.A little slow ,but that is not unusual on a Saturday.
Pace of play and greens ruined the experience
I had a 3:28 tee time and we finished the front 9 at 6:20, almost 3 hours. It completely ruined the round and we ended up leaving at the turn. We went to the pro shop to ask if we could get a rain check for 9 holes considering we paid $72 for the round and they said to contact the manager who had already left for the day because the person at the pro shop didn’t have the authority to give one. Pretty ridiculous considering the circumstances. Throughout the day, we saw the marshal driving around but they didn’t help the situation at all as the wait between shots progressively got longer throughout the day.
As for the greens, they were very inconsistent and I probably had 5 putts that actually rolled to the hole without the ball jumping around like a birthday party at sky zone.
The course has so much potential, as the layout is great and there are some awesome par 3s but taking almost 3 hours a 9 and potentially 6 hours a round is unacceptable. The greens last summer were in much better condition than current.
