Rating 74.4

Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Teravista

Decent course but super bogged down, wet and muddy. Rough was in bad shape, hard to find balls. OB and perimeters are a lost cause, super over grown and don't make a ton of sense jolting into various fairways. Greens were in good shape but slow. Pace of play was a nightmare had 1 guy taking 4 and 5 shots per lie holding up the flow through every hole. Wouldn't spend a dollar over 50 bucks to play this track again. Wish Austin had more public courses!

This course is great, and it great shape right now, but they have too many tee times and it really backups. Don't count on 5 hours or getting done if you start after 2:30 even before daylight savings. It's a problem that been around foreverr with all the courses this group manages. There aren't enough local public courses and they know it so your stuck with what you can get.

Not my first time.

I have been playing the Teravista golf course for close to 20 years. Back in the Troon golf ownership days with the mango-scented ice towels at the turn.

I love this course, from the beautiful elevation changes to the nasty number 4. Love it all.

The only issue I had that day was the bunkers. I know I'm not supposed to be there, but I found the sand, or lack of it, not great.

The greens roll tremendous, and the fairways are green.

Not to bad

I know a lot of people have been crapping on this course so I was really hesitant to book a t time. Overall the course is in pretty good shape and greens were in good shape. A couple of rough areas but is recovering really well. Pace of play was ahead of schedule and finished in just about 4 hours. My only grievance is the cost for the course, I still don’t feel it should be priced as what it is for a round there.

Horrible pace of play. Be l prepared to spend 6+ hours

It’s always a terrible pace of play with their 8 minutes between tee times and zero enforcement of the pace of play. But in 9/15 it was the worst pace of play I’ve ever experienced in my life . We had a 10:30 tee time , and decided to call it quits at 3:30 .. 5 hours later , after only getting through 13 holes . Once we past the group in front of us , there was no one on holes 14-17, and the next closest group was already on the green of 18. Unfortunately I didn’t have any extra time to stay and finish the other holes. I complained to the guy in the pro shop , and he directed me to speak to the GM.. they both told me I was a liar and that my story didn’t add up. Will never golf here again .

Temporary greens

First time here. Thought $80 sounded like a bit much for a weekday, but it’s my birthday so wth right? The course is a great layout. Very unique holes with doglegs and water. The main problem was temporary greens. THREE of them because of dried out turf dying from the freeze. Most greens were fine, but to charge that much and have three temporary greens? Literally just a hole cut in the fairway in front of the actual geeens! Severely disappointed that the course isn’t charging half price with that going on. For the record…I gave myself putts on the three temp greens and shot 72. So there’s a bright side!

Greens Are Awful

I’ve played this course a couple times in the past and it was always a pretty good value and in good shape. Yesterday was different. The green fees are over $100 and pretty much ever green had unplayable areas with burned out grass and rough/bumpy ground. Even some greens with large areas of turf cut out and filled with sand. I’m fine paying $100+ for golf but it should be a premium experience. This was certainly not. Would recommend green fees be cut in half or else just go play elsewhere…plenty of options close by.

Saturday morning round

Course was in great shape for mid July. A few issues on some greens however that is expected for the time of year. Fairways and tee boxes were excellent. Had a 10:16 tee time on a Saturday morning and took a little under 5 hours to play. Pretty impressed. The group in front of us was a little slow. Once we caught up to them on a tee they let us play through. Marshall kept telling us it was packed all though the course. This was not the case. Once we played through we never caught up to group in front of us. They were playing At a good clip. Pro shop personal was very friendly and we saw the refreshment cart person with drinks multiple times through out the day. Only complaint is there are not ball washing stations or very many garbage cans through out the course. However all in all it was a great day. I will be back. Felt $100 for a round was pricy

It WAS a great course but right now AVOID!

So we played this yesterday and was more than disappointed. This has been a consistent course we play due to the proximity to our house and it's always been in good to great condition, especially considering the green fee that was charged. Well now I can say this has changed drastically as of playing this course yesterday. The tee boxes and fairways are in ok to good shape. The big issue is the greens. They are currently competing for being some of the worst in the Austin area, especially when the course is asking for $100+ green fees. Based on the conditions the green fee should be closer to $40 overall. It's a pretty frustrating to have birdie-bogey putts jump around on a putt more than it rolls. Or for you to have to putt through half the green being burned away. Maybe in the fall it'll be in better shape, but there a better choices for the cost to play. I'd say avoid for now.
