Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Greens Are Awful
I’ve played this course a couple times in the past and it was always a pretty good value and in good shape. Yesterday was different. The green fees are over $100 and pretty much ever green had unplayable areas with burned out grass and rough/bumpy ground. Even some greens with large areas of turf cut out and filled with sand. I’m fine paying $100+ for golf but it should be a premium experience. This was certainly not. Would recommend green fees be cut in half or else just go play elsewhere…plenty of options close by.
Saturday morning round
Course was in great shape for mid July. A few issues on some greens however that is expected for the time of year. Fairways and tee boxes were excellent. Had a 10:16 tee time on a Saturday morning and took a little under 5 hours to play. Pretty impressed. The group in front of us was a little slow. Once we caught up to them on a tee they let us play through. Marshall kept telling us it was packed all though the course. This was not the case. Once we played through we never caught up to group in front of us. They were playing At a good clip. Pro shop personal was very friendly and we saw the refreshment cart person with drinks multiple times through out the day. Only complaint is there are not ball washing stations or very many garbage cans through out the course. However all in all it was a great day. I will be back. Felt $100 for a round was pricy
It WAS a great course but right now AVOID!
So we played this yesterday and was more than disappointed. This has been a consistent course we play due to the proximity to our house and it's always been in good to great condition, especially considering the green fee that was charged. Well now I can say this has changed drastically as of playing this course yesterday. The tee boxes and fairways are in ok to good shape. The big issue is the greens. They are currently competing for being some of the worst in the Austin area, especially when the course is asking for $100+ green fees. Based on the conditions the green fee should be closer to $40 overall. It's a pretty frustrating to have birdie-bogey putts jump around on a putt more than it rolls. Or for you to have to putt through half the green being burned away. Maybe in the fall it'll be in better shape, but there a better choices for the cost to play. I'd say avoid for now.
Fair and Fun
Wind is the main protection against low scores
Hot summer has greens hurting:(. - not a unique problem around this area tho
Teravista
Course was looking good other than the greens were having some issues. But they were busy fixing them. Give it a few weeks and should be 5 star. Still enjoyed the round and boxes and fairways were great
Stay Away
The course has been mismanaged. Greens are burnt and several holes have temporary greens. This course will not recover for some time. They have a captive group of members who deserve better. The Friday rate is an outrage. Avoid it like the plague.
TeraVista was nice!!
Played this course many times over the past 20 years. But this last time was the worst. They lost the greens. Tee box also. Every green had dead spots which was filled in with sand! Cannot charge normal rates for that crap 💩. Pace of play avg in the past, but really slow this last time.. sorry but would not recommend….
Teravista
Course was nice. Paired with 2 other guys and had a fun time. Two issues. Greens were pretty rough. Large areas on probably half the greens were dirt. Second, pace of play was really bad and didn’t see a Marshall all day. Front nine was probably 2.5 hours. Starting on 10 we had to wait on the group in front of us and the group in front of them. At about 4 hours in the round had to leave at hole 14. And we were about 50-55 behind pace for a 4 hour 15 minute round. If we’d finished the last 4 holes it would have been between a 5 1/2 to 6 hour round. Overall a fun course, I can live with the greens as a hacker (and the fairways were great) but gotta pick up the pace.
Greens Are in poor condition
The course should not be booking at a full rate with the greens in their present condition.
5 star amenities , 2 star greens
Love terra and their nice practice area, but holy spit y’all charging $64 on a Monday for greens that are comparable to Blackhawk!? Not cool….
Pace of play
Got stuck behind 5 foursomes on the back 9 but the front I played with these gentlemen that worked at the course and that just wanted to hop in and it was a blast.
100 Degree Weather No Cart Service Terrible Greens
My buddy took me with a group of friends for my birthday to play a round at TerraVista , we knew it was a hot day but we also figured there would be Carr service provided during the day for water and gatorades. Well we didn’t see one beverage cart, when we stopped at the turn we asked and they said they would be on the back nine for sure so we didn’t stock up. Well they were not on the back nine.
The greens were worse than Blackhawk and for $70 a round it makes sense nobody was out there. Hard to believe this same company owns Avery & Falconhead. This was by far the worst golf course I have played in Austin to date.
Horrendous
Been playing this course for 10+ years. Nice layout and decent shape but unless you have 6 hours or more to play golf, don’t bother. Pace of play has ALWAYS been an issue. 6 hours or more to play a round is awful.
Terrible Customer Service.
I made a mistake last Thursday with an online booking and was charged for a full round as well as a random second charge for $5. Called the pro shop to try to discuss what happened and they referred me to the GM. He refuses to respond to email or phone calls. Pro shop attendant said "that's his way of saying he's not going to help you."
Wow.....Ok.
