Stone River Golf Club
About
Previously known as Aaki Ranch International Golf Course, Stone River Golf Club is a basic, homemade 18-hole track that opened in 1997, featuring rolling Bermuda pastures, manmade lakes, and young trees. Playing only 6,487 yards from the tips with minimal trees lining the fairways, you’ll be able to swing hard and let it rip.
Getting there : From Dallas, head east on I-30 for about 25 miles to exit 77B (FM35). Turn right at the stop onto FM 35, then continue about 1 mile. Turn right onto FM 2453 and drive another .5 miles. The golf course is on your right

Course in transition
Once tha course comes of winter to spring transition it will be a nice course.
Not good shape
Course is hard as concrete. Greens roll true, but literally feel like the parking lot. Fairways, or lack there of, are not in good shape, probably still recovering from the earlier dry spell we had. They tend to overbook start times, and we played the first 9 with two pairs up our butts. We’re not slow players either. Just wasn’t an enjoyable experience unfortunately.
Fun Course.
Really fun place to play. Layout can get a bit confusing, but nothing that can't be sorted out with a quick look at the map.
Not great condition
Played here a lot and been a go to when I can't play other courses nearby. Unfortunately, the course lacks grass in fairways and rough. Greens are in pretty good shape, but you will be hitting off patchy stuff playing here. Hope it gets better, but just not worth the money at this time
Horrible Course
No mention of it I was playing with anyone so just had to figure that out on the first tee box with whoever was there around the same time. No starter to group 2 separate twosomes together to slightly help the pace of play. Marshal was non existent just riding around and not really doing much. Course was in horrendous condition. Fairways were covered in weeds and was basically just dirt most of the time. Greens were so hard and in such bad shape it was like you were putting on a ice rink. Honesty I can’t believe they charge people money to play.
Great place throw away your money
I’ve been playing here for a quick golf fix for several years but today that ends. The care for the course is little to none. Nobody has any idea what they’re doing. This course is an embarrassment to the game of Golf. The audacity to charge what they do blows my mind. I don’t know who dumber the people who run the place or those that willingly give their money and time.
Great course
The course was a lot of fun to play. The greens were extremely fast and even with a lot of spin nothing stuck to the green.
Not a full round
On the back 9, we had to skip a few holes due that there was a group of 7 playing together. They were
dragged their shoes all over green. We
never saw a Marshall. After the round, went to the clubhouse to report it. They said that the Marshall broke it up earlier that day. Again, we never saw a Marshall.
Weather Took Its Toll
The recent winter freeze and rain has taken its toll on the course. Hole #14 is not playable. The course overall is not in good condition. The staff is very friendly. But for a round of golf, it’s going to take a while for the course conditions to improve. The course of play is also too slow. It was common to see groups of 5 and 6 players. They really need marshals to monitor the groups of players.
