Stone River Golf Club

About
Previously known as Aaki Ranch International Golf Course, Stone River Golf Club is a basic, homemade 18-hole track that opened in 1997, featuring rolling Bermuda pastures, manmade lakes, and young trees. Playing only 6,487 yards from the tips with minimal trees lining the fairways, you’ll be able to swing hard and let it rip.
Getting there : From Dallas, head east on I-30 for about 25 miles to exit 77B (FM35). Turn right at the stop onto FM 35, then continue about 1 mile. Turn right onto FM 2453 and drive another .5 miles. The golf course is on your right

Good course for a good price.
For this area, the prices very reasonable, and the course has a nice layout, and he’s very well kept
Getting Better
This course has great potential but has not been maintained in the past. They are redoing some tee boxes and the fairways look better than in the past. Greens still need some work for sure. I hope they keep working on it and improving it because the potential is there.
Nice place!
The greens where being Aerated but were still very playable. The fairways where absolutely awesome and the Marshall was very nice when we went a bit to far on a hole. Definitely would play again. Although… one negative was the parking lot was waaaayyy to small.
Terrible
Needs water, not enough carts had to wait for a cart. Fairway, roughs, and greens were horrible. It is the cheapest place to play for a reason
Needs TLC
My son is learning the game and this is a great course for that; zero bunkers. This course has great potential if they’d pump some $ into it. Fairways were pretty bare, tee boxes were pretty bad on some holes, greens were skinned with not much grass.
If they put some effort into the course, it would be a nice little track. It’s a go-to course when there aren’t tee times available anywhere else. If you haven’t played here, don’t expect much.
Course in transition
Once tha course comes of winter to spring transition it will be a nice course.
Not good shape
Course is hard as concrete. Greens roll true, but literally feel like the parking lot. Fairways, or lack there of, are not in good shape, probably still recovering from the earlier dry spell we had. They tend to overbook start times, and we played the first 9 with two pairs up our butts. We’re not slow players either. Just wasn’t an enjoyable experience unfortunately.
