Olympia Hills Golf Course
About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Not going back
The greens were horrible and they should have discontinued for unplayable greens. Also pretty shady they didn’t provide golf tees in the golf carts. Pennies on the dollar investment for your clients.
Greens in bad shape
Fairways great.
Other aspects of course all good.
Greens were horrible.
Very nice course
Now one of my favorites. Some of the greens could use some TLC but not as bad as some of their that I’ve recently played.
Great course but
Great course the fairways where perfect conditions BUT! The greens where in horrible condition there was only about 3 greens there where in decent shape the rest where mud with patches of grass
Horrible course
This course is horrible. The greens are the worst I’ve seen in Texas so far. Got fairways that are ok, and the bunkers don’t have any sand. I would not recommend this course to my worst enemy.
Fun Course with Challenges
Olympia Hills is a fun and challenging golf course The front nine offers very scenic holes with hills and dog legs. The two par 3"s are challenging as well. The back nine is less challenging yet and little more open but still offers very fun holes. The course has very nice practice areas including the driving range (with new synthetic mats), chipping and putting areas. As far as the course condition, the tee boxes and fairways are in great condition. The bunkers and rough areasare well groomed. However, currently all of the greens are in horrible condition. They are making efforts to repair them, but it may take significant time. the course did provide a discount because of the repairs taking place, not I'm not sure if the discount is offered daily. We did not use the restaurant, but the club house and facilities are very nice. The prices are fair and the staff or great.
Poor greens
I played this course for the first time and the greens were horrendous. Worst I’ve ever played on anywhere in the world. For what they charge for a round, I expected much better conditions. Highly disappointed and likely will never play here again.
HORRIBLE
The best parts of this round were the staff, playing partners I was joined with, and the range was good as well (first time I've been there since they put in the mats). Sadly, it was downhill from there.
Ding 1: I played on a Friday, so I thought it should be quicker than a weekend round (have usually been able to finish in 4.5 hours or a little less). However, it took 5+ hours to finish this round
Ding 2: The fairways were good for the most part, but some tee boxes need work. Either too much wear and tear on some, or need mowing on others.
Ding 3: WORST OF ALL, the greens were absolutely terrible. They were the worst I've seen there and worst I've ever played on. It was worse than putting on aerated greens in my opinion and that didn't even look like what they were trying to do. You would putt and hope it bounced off of the pitch marks, mud spots, cleat marks, tiny bits of grass/weed/rocks/tees/sand/whatever else was growing and somehow find its way to the hole.
I've played here before (8-10 times probably) and I do like the layout but I have now had one too many bad experiences and do not plan on returning. The other most notable bad experience, was when one of the staff (I know they were part of the staff because they were the person that checked us in at the pro shop) started teeing off with 6 others right before we were able to start the back 9. Either they were a slow group that let everyone else except us pass and the person with the staff joined them for the back 9, or they just started play on the back 9 right before us and didn't let us play through. Regardless, the BACK 9 ALONE took us around 3.5 hours to play, with the entire round taking about 6 hours. If the weather wasn't perfect, I would've left after hole 12.
Olympia Hills Golf Course
The fairways were fine. The greens were in horrible shape. Tee boxes were also in bad shape. Course layout is great but I won’t be back until the get the greens fixed. They were unputtable.
Fun day out with my son
Good course layout and excellent pace. Sunday at 3:08 and we motored through unimpeded. Greens were only just ok. Not sure if they had been punched in the previous 4-6 weeks, but could use some attention.
All around great day!
Terrible greens
The greens are terrible, never see anything like this over 40 years of playing golf. Tee boxes also desperately needs some improvement. It’ll be a while for us to come back. If these problems aren’t solved soon, it’ll be an empty field. I’d hate to see that happen.
First Time Playing Course
Called in advance to ask if greens were recently "punched". Was told "no", not until 10 May. Arrived and warmed up on chipping green. Left wedge on practice green. No one turned it in. Someone stole it. Tee'd off on first hole. Fairway was in good shape. When we approached green to putt, the green was completely washed out from water saturation. Impossible to putt due to exposed roots To our surprise, EVERY green was in this condition. Dirt & exposed roots. If the young lady would have been honest with me, we would have waited until groundskeeper performed landscape maintenance before playing. Instead, we drove over 30 miles to be disappointed. Recap. Club theft and horrible greens. That sums up our experience.
BAD GREENS
The overall course was decent, except the greens. They were like putting on ASPHALT. There was NOT a single green that has any grass. I think this was my last time ti play this course.
Holy crap greens are the word I’ve seen anywhere
People are great and fairways are good seemed to have overbooked since it took us 6 hrs to finish and we usually finish in 3.5 hrs. Greeds are the worst I’ve seen anywhere in San Antonio or local surrounding areas. Shot an 81 though should of been 11 under
