Olympia Hills Golf Course
About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Horrible Shape
The Tee boxes were in rough shape .
Every green was dead. Large piles of sand on multiple greens . Weeds have completely taken over . Impossible to putt
Greens
There are bad greens there are terrible greens then there are the greens at Olympia Hills totally unplayable. When you consider two putting every green that is 36 strokes No other Club in your bag even comes close. So to pay$40 + is crazy. You would be better off not even playing as too attempt to play a round at Olympia Hills. The only fix is to tear them up and redo all the greens. This will never happen. Regardless of how much rain we get the greens are gone and will never come back. I live 5 minutes from the course my lawn that was failing sprang back too life with the recent rain not the greens at Olympia Hills. Save your money do NOT pay to play Olympia Hills!
$#!+ Greens
The greens on 4/28 were by far the worst greens I’ve every player. I would rather not play golf Han play this course again. Maybe would I play it again for $10. The staff should have warned us on the POOR quality of the green.
Time makes a huge difference
Played this course about 12 years ago and made back here recently. This course went 5 stars to 1 star during that time. Tee boxes were in bad shape, fairways were not much better, and easily the worst greens I’ve ever played on. Horrible conditions and way to pricey, don’t waste your time or money here.
Olympia Hills GC
Challenging and very pretty golf course. The greens are not in very good shape but the fairways were.
Greens
Course fairways are nice and are better than most tracks in San Antonio right now. The problem is the greens. They are completely grass free and it doesn’t look like a quick turnaround. Not sure what happened but it may cause me to play elsewhere for awhile.
Dead greens
Greens were literally dirt. I’ve been playing golf almost 60 years. I’ve never seen greens this bad. And, they still charged full green fees. The course layout is nice. But, between the greens, and almost in need of 4 wheel drive to get back on the cart path, this course is more .38, than a 3.8 rating.
Beautiful hills, but awful greens
The front nine has great and challenging hills with narrow fairways and plenty of shade. The back nine is more wide open, less trees, and less hilly so it’s easier to play.
Greens (if you could call them that) looked liked hardened mud with grass mixed in them and were in terrible shape.
Awful greens
I live in the Ft. Worth area and was going down for business to San Antonio and have always heard good things about this course. The course itself was in good shape but the greens were just awful! Most were basically just dead and soft mushy muck and with very little actual grass on them. It made it very difficult to figure out speed or breaks, and shots into the green just stuck and left huge divots. I would like to come back but not until the green issues is resolved.
Greens conditions
The greens had almost no grass at all making it difficult to putt. It caused the ball to bounce.
Fairways were great. Greens sucked. Probably wouldn’t play this course again unless greens improve 200%
Super disappointing
We have played here many times before. However the greens were the worst I have seen. The fairways are fair. However, the pace of play has gotten soooooo bad, I will not be returning. The frustration of being behind golfers who feel they belong playing from the back, search for balls on every shot, and you may catch the beverage cart once, maybe. It took us 4 hrs 20 mins to play 8. While the clerk was courteous, she was unable to provide us a partial refund or credit because we paid for round via third party. Condition + pace = not worth it!
First time playing
Firstly this is the first and only round I’ll play at this course until I hear it improves. To start I have heard people compliment this course a lot so I wanted to play it. I heard the first green was rough but that it. The layout and bunker place were excellent. Holes played well and was a god length. The pars 3 were really surprising as 2 played over 220 and the others were still 170. The bunkers were washed out from the rain so I can’t comment on the condition of them. My huge pain and ultimate reason for the poor review is due to the greens. Now if I was told the greens were bad then I would have understood. I wasn’t told anything and the green are boarder line unplayable as the crab grass effect even a 4 foot put. Break doesn’t mean as the crab grass will move the ball the opposite direction. The greens were honestly 1/10 and are by far the worst I have seen in the austin and San Antonio area at the courses I have played.
Greens Need WORK
Greens are in rough shape especially given the amount of rain we have received this year. Ball BOUNCES toward the hole.
Worse is they let 5/6 players in the same group, so if you’re behind them expect a 5-1/2 hour round.
I player there every six months and am reminded why I don’t play there.
The worst ran golf course I’ve ever experienced.
I get up to the clubhouse to check in and as soon as I stepped In someone is asking for their money back. Not a good sign but I wasn’t my business. The lady in the pro shop checked me in and proceeded to take my money with no conversation other than “would you like a receipt?”. Meanwhile I walk Outside to a crowd of people saying they’ve been waiting for over an hour for a cart. The pro shop lady never said a word about that. I waited for over an hour myself and still didn’t receive a cart. Couldn’t even tee off. Greens were horrible as well. Zero stars if I could.
The greens
The course was nice and a little challenging. the staff were great. The only issue were the greens. they could use some work.
2 putts
The course looked great for the most part. The traps were super wet and unplayable. Tees, fairways, rough, and aprons were in good condition. The greens kinda looked and played like a well manicured goat farm.
