Beautiful course on a beautiful day
Played at 9 am on a Saturday at half price with my dad. We were not paired up with anyone so got to ride by ourselves. No one pushing us from behind and no running into anyone in front of us. Great breakfast tacos at the starters shack and turn, free range balls included. Not an easy course for the faint of heart. Greens are super fast with some tough pin placements. Plenty of sand to be found, the occasional water hazard, and unforgiving rough.
Beautiful but VERY HARD. Mean course.
Beautiful course but if you have a double digit handicap like I do(17) it will be frustrating.
Potentially the best non private course in Austin
Wolfdancer is a tremendous place to golf. The drive in through the woods is beautiful and certainly makes you feel like you are getting away from it all. The club house and grill are immaculate and amazing. High end clothing and a restaurant style grill make for a warm greeting. The practice facility is absolutely amazing, with music being pumped in through speakers to lighten the mood before the round. The starter house has drinks and food as well in case you didn't grab anything at the clubhouse. First hole is a challenging par 4 with a huge green so make sure you have the right club or you will be looking at a long putt. The course itself is a blend of links style golf and some tree lined holes. It is beautiful and secluded. You wont have houses on any side of you. There are a few drivable par 4's at the blue tee's that definitely provide risk reward. # 12 is called Top of the World and aptly so. A tremendous view overlooking the resort to a 125 yard par 3 downhill. If you have the opportunity to play this course for a decent rate ( I got 45$ ) then it is absolutely worth the drive and more. Only issue with this course can be the price for the drive. But I jump at every chance I can get to play here if priced accordingly.
This course has great features
A really lovely course even in the winter. A special value using GolfNow.
Beautifully manicured course with wonderful use of terrain.
This course was constructed wonderfully with use of existing terrain. It offers beautiful views and extremely challenging play. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Can't wait for another chance to play here.
Great Day
Played as a single on a Tuesday afternoon and actually finished in under 3 Hours. Course was in great shape and the greens had just been cut, so they were fast, but not impossible. Rain the previous day had softened the greens enough where irons were holding (not necessarily the norm out here.) The views are great and the staff are incredibly friendly. They even let me head back out to the range for a few extra practice balls. Highly recommend this place, but must say, the discount rate is the only thing that makes playing here feasible for me.
Wolfdancer is a tough course. It doesn't let up.
Hitting into the greens is probably the hardest part about this course. Each green is surrounded by bunkers and you will be hard pressed to find a level spot once you are on the putting surface. Throw in a mix of water, terrain and pin placements, and you are challenged. These are just a few of your hazards after hitting what better be an accurate first shot off the tee in avoiding trees.
This course has at least four types of terrain to challenge you.
With all of the variations is terrain, i.e., rolling hills, woods, plains, greenside water carries, fairway bunkers and a split fairway on the par-5 finishing hole, I literally used every club in my bag with a 5 mph southerly wind. Pro style practise areas; excellent on-course restroom facilities; super efficient slow-play marshal and beverage cart service; and all of the staff - especially the cart service guys - all have that good old fashioned Southern hospitality.
course staff was very friendly
great course first time played to expensive for the weekend hacker i was able to find a coupon online to allow me to play within my budget. made online tee time very easy. staff was very friendly i was told more than once thanks for comming out to spend the day with them. course was difficult i thought but challenging. had a great time.
one of the best courses we play
our foursome enjoys coming up here to pklay this was our four trip from houston. and its well worth it. beautiful course and the staff is great we will be back again in 2013. thanks wolfdancer.
Great course - very challenging - staff super friendly
I would gladly play this course again (with discount rate).
Challenging to work your game. Staff super freindly.
You don't even get out of your car before they are there to unload your clubs. Ditto for the exit, they are there to clean your clubs and load them in the car.
Excellent Course
Very challenging but fun course. I would highly recommend playing.
Challenging course
This course requires a great deal of decision making about club selection and shot placement. There are many deep traps that are strategically placed. Lots of elevation changes with good views. I recommend it highly to intermediate and advanced players.
Beautiful golf course
I recently moved to Austin and wolf dancer is the best course I have played. It's set on a beautiful piece of property and the golf course is very challenging. The staff was awesome and the overall experience was great. I'll be headed back for sure.
Great day at the Wolfdancer
Great staff and location excellent. Fantastic course well maintained with tricky, but awesome greens.
Great course, challenging but fun. In great shape!
This is a fun course that can play easy from the front tees or difficult from the backs. Greens area always in great shape.
Best golf experience I've had yet!!
First of all I want to think golf now for existing because I was able to play this course for 25$ when it normally cost's around 100$. As for the course, this was a complete private course experience. The golf pro sent me out early so I wouldn't have to play with the random guys. I felt like I was on my own golf course, and it happen to be the nicest course I've ever played.
Staff was super nice dot me. The experience was a 10 out of 10.
Golf course in great condition.
Great conditions even though it rained hard the day before and it was cart path only the day we played. Great layout and can be challenging from any set of tees depending on the golfer. Great views of the hill country from the higher elevations. Well worth the trip to the course from Austin.
Nice setting, terrible design
All that is missing is a Clown's Face on a couple holes.
