About
Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.
While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.
No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.
The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.
No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.
No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.
Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Great course
I hadn’t played this course in over a year, but it was just as I remember. The course was in great shape and greens rolled true and fast. Only negative was only saw the cart person twice and water only on two holes. The ice towels was a life saver as the temps in the high 90’s and heat index at or above 100.
A must play course!
Great Course and Facility
I would have to say that pretty much everything was great there other than the driving range. The driving range was not terrible but not quite up to par with the rest of the experience. The course was nice and challenging, in great condition, greens were nice and held well, nice carts with GPS, great clubhouse and pro shop. Overall a really nice course and will definitely play this course many more times.
This course is in Great Shape!
Second time playing this course and did not disappoint. Driving range available for warm up. Carts have GPS which is nice for range finding; however the course is currently cart path only which was disappointing. Tee boxes, Fairways, Greens and unfortunately the sand all in great shape… & Man those greens are fast!! This course let’s you rip the driver with average accuracy required. Always Recommend Heritage Ranch - Good play

Fantastic course conditions
Tee time just before 11am
Pace in the front was good however there were a few slow spots as we moved through the second half.
That said it is all worth is as this course has amazingly manicured greens…best I’ve seen lately in NE Texas, fairways were very dood condition as well. Hats off to the staff for managing this course so we’ll, many others in NE Texas are still recovering from the freeze followed by the excessive rains

Had an awesome time, but lost me as a customer
I love the course, the price was fair. Tee'd off a few minutes late, no biggie. I was paired with a twosome, we played the round, 2 hours on the front and 2 hours on the back. The 1 thing that will keep me from returning was the customer service from the marshal/pro shop attendant. He caught up with us the end of hole 7 (cart path only), said the group in front of us was on hole 10, I just saw them T off on 8 so that was a lie. Said we needed to speed up our play. We were exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes into our round. Never saw the folks behind us. So they rushed us for no reason... Put you in a crappy mind frame and really upset us.
We are sorry for your poor experiences with our course. We hope in the future, you will try us again for a 5-star experience.
Had the same experience today...rude marshal at the turn and some punk kid employee chased us down to say more on the 12th tee box. He ever had the wrong group to yell at. Done with this place!
Great greens
Greens were firm and fast. Always enjoy playing here, although not having a Marshall on the course slowed things.

Heritage Ranch 6/22/21
Track in great shape tee to green. Looks to have come out of the February 2021 “Winter-apocalypse” much better than a number of the public access courses across north Texas and Oklahoma. Fairways were lush, greens fast, bunkers groomed.

I play ALL around the DFW area and HR was in the BEST shape of all the courses I’ve played since. That’s about 12+ courses.
