About
Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.
While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.
No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.
The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.
No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.
No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.
Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Texas Summer
Course was in very good shape. The greens were punched recently but they were rolling really well considering. The layout here is also very good with lots of variety. Staff friendly. Two complaints, albeit small ones, One is the beverage prices. $5 for a 12 oz Shiner when I can get a 16 oz for $4 at other places. (Cost is probably $15 per 12 pack at most). You can still make money and have a fair price on beverages. Second, the carts GPS, which is normally great, keeps flashing up Covid-19 warnings the entire round. Not just here and there, literally several times each hole. The lockdown mode when you are 80 yards from the green is a bit excessive. Definitely a course that I enjoy playing otherwise.

Great facility
I play here 4 to 5 times a year and it is always in good shape. Today was exceptional. Fairways, tee boxes, traps, and greens are immaculate. Excellent test as greens are tricky but fair. They were punched so they were not as fast as normal which is good because they can be punishing. If you haven't played here before, do it. I used a $20 coupon and played for $6 with fees. GPS carts were convenient and fun to use.

Great layout and course conditions
The golf course is in great condition and the management team there is following all TV he COVID 19 protocols to keep all golfers safe!

Nice, beautiful, and challenging course
I played this course during July 4th weekend and the conditions were good; except maybe the bunkers (which is understandable due to the virus).
The course looks wide open but several obstacles one would not expect typically come into play at unfortunate moments.
For example, a tee shot on a Par 3 was headed to the green when it unexpected clipped a tree limb and was immediately rejected to the ground (short of the green).
On a couple more occasions, the ball was rolling down the side of a fairway until it unexpectedly hit an object and kicked out of bounds.
Nonetheless, this is a challenging course that one should play.
Near perfect greens
Greens were really good and fast. Fairways were also great. Only problem I encountered was high Johnson grass rough that needed to be removed.

Fun, challenging course that is fun to play. The conditions are good for a semi-private course although the greens could be faster or more consistent from one green to the next.
Highly recommended to play.
Closed
Arrived at the course to be told it has been closed since Tuesday. Booked the tee time o Thursday. Why did nobody ever contact me to let me know the course was closed?

One of the top best in North Texas
This gem of a course is consistently depicting a wonderful layout in tune with the surroundings is always maintained in great shape.
The staff pays attention to providing welcoming and professional services.
The amenities are resort like and the is always a friendly face to help.

The grounds are kept un great shape both fairways and greens. The course has a flowing layout along the beautiful wooded areas and challenging plains.
