Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club
About
Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.
While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.
No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.
The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.
No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.
No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.
Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Great course in North Texas
Year after year this continues to be a great course with professional and friendly staff.
The grounds are kept un great shape both fairways and greens. The course has a flowing layout along the beautiful wooded areas and challenging plains.
Starter!!!
Starter suddenly put two some in front of my tee time...
My name is Eric Hoyle and I am the Community Events Director here at Heritage Ranch. Not sure if you had 2, 3, or 4 players but if you did have 4 players, our starter may have thought that putting a twosome in front of you would get them out and not hurt your pace of play. I would love to know more details. Feel free to contact me at ehoyle@heritageranchgolf.com!
Great Afternoon round
I am so glad that they allow push carts it makes playing this course alot more fun. There are a few holes that are hard to walk between but what a great layout to play and walk as the game was intended.
Thanks for the great review! Let us know how we can make your next round even better so we can earn a fifth star! See you out here soon!
Near perfect shape
Went back to Heritage Ranch after two month hiatus. greens have come in very nicely. Rolled true with a little of the bermuda grain showing up. Fairways in excellent shape, bunkers too. A few dirt.closed areas, but it didn't take away from the golf. Thursday afternoon golf played in under 3 hours, which is a fantastic surprise. The guy who placed the flags today was in a very bad mood.... several pins on the back edges of greens. It really tested your short game and lag putting. All in all a very enjoyable round of golf on a nice course in a very friendly part of town.
We appreciate your positive review! Anytime you can get a 3 hour round of golf in is a win! I agree with the flag comment. They can be pretty dicey at times. I've worked here for 15 years and I still tease the Director of Agronomy on days where the tees are in the farthest back or we have what I call, the "Sucker" pin placements. Especially if you see a blue flag on number 5. Good luck trying to pin shoot there! Hope to see you again at Heritage Ranch!
Great Course
This course is one of the best I have played through GolfNow. Challenging but fair layout. Tight fairways, smallish firm and fast greens, GPS in carts. Best Free round of golf I've played! First time to make 3 birdies in a round, and in a span of 5 holes! Thank you GOLFPASS!
Thanks for the great review! Congratulations on your round! 3 birdies! What holes? We look forward to you returning here and maybe get an eagle with those birdies!
Outstanding course. Excellent condition. One of the best courses in the area
Appreciate the kudos on our course! We look forward to your next round at Heritage Ranch!
Pricey
The layout is interesting with houses on most holes. The course was in pretty good condition after the recent rain and the greens were in good shape.
$73 on a Friday for a Senior is too much given the other good courses in the area are a lot better value.
Wonderful Course and Staff
We appreciated, Mr. E Hoyle(Evant Manager) invited me and wife and rounding with us.
One of signature hole(par 3) was really excellent layout and design.
Also this course has great futures,
great maintenance and management even Covid-19 pandemic.
We will be back.
HR Golf Review
Course was in excellent shape, and pace of play was great! No waiting to tee off on any hole. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and practice facilities were in great shape. Highly recommend this course for all levels of golfers.
Beautiful layout
The entire course had recently been punched and you could hardly notice. Each hole was unique and a tough but playable!
Thanks for coming out! We hope to have you back out here again soon!!!
Bad Business
I was called Sunday for playability and male said Yes.
But hurry to Monday's tee time..
Security woman at Gate said "Closed" drove back home more than 1and 1/2 hr and drove.
call and complain to Golf Now, said can't control.. Refunded..
I had the pleasure of inviting this couple to play our course on Wednesday, May 20th and we all had an amazing time! What fun it is to turn a bad experience into a great one! I look forward to playing with them in the near future!!!

This is Eric Hoyle, Community Events Director at Heritage Ranch. I am very sorry this happened to you. I would like to get more details on the booking. Could you give me a call at 972-886-4700 ext. 101? We are still trying to figure out where the breakdown in communications between us and GolfNow happened.
