About

Holes 18
Type Public/Resort
Par 72
Length 6988 yards
Slope 138
Rating 80.2

Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.

While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.

No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.

The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.

No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.

No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.

Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Heritage Ranch - Great Track

The course was in great condition and greens rolled true. Always love this track because it gives you a little bit of ability to bomb it and still enough teeth that you have to think about your shots.

Top Notch semi-public DFW course

I have played a fair amount of supposed "very good" golf courses through Golf Now only to be VERY disappointed in the facilities, maintenance, layout and quality of experience. This course, Heritage Ranch, did not disappoint. I have never given an all 5 star review before now. I had been so disappointed in many DFW course purchased through Golf Now (Waterchase). The pro shop worked with me to adjust my tee time to my schedule. The facilities and course were very nice (it is a member club that allows some public play).

Semi Hidden Gem

Played a round at Heritage Ranch and had a great experience from start to finish. The pace of play was excellent, keeping the round enjoyable and smooth. Staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive vibe.

The course was in excellent shape—lush fairways and greens that rolled true made for a really satisfying round. The layout is fantastic, with a fun variety of holes that challenge without overwhelming.

A definite bonus was the on-cart GPS and Bluetooth radio—made navigation a breeze and added a nice touch of comfort and entertainment to the round. The amenities looked top-notch as well, reinforcing the course’s premium feel.

All in all, Heritage Ranch is a must-play in the area for golfers looking for quality, pace, and a great experience.

One of the Best…..

Heritage Ranch proves the adage: you get what you pay for. It can be pricey during peak times because of their pricing model, but deals can be had during the week which make it more budget friendly. Regardless of what you pay, it’s one of the most well maintained, curated, and complete golf experience anywhere in the metroplex.

Guys away with Kitchen Pass

The staff in the proshop were very friendly and we chatted about golf for a good 30 minutes. Unfortunately we missed the breakfast but had a great lunch. The course and accommodations were fantastic. Wish they had a beverage cart but getting drinks and snacks on the turn was easy to order online at holes 8 & 17.

Definitely worth visiting again.

Mr. B

There is a group of five players ahead of our twosome from the very beginning of our day. Typically a five some would allow us two players to play through, But these guys did not do so. They seemed to be regular players at this course. We waited 10 to 15 minutes on every shot! We would’ve easily finished an hour earlier if these guys had any golf etiquette or courtesy!

Not worth the money

This course has a beautiful layout. The greens are cut super thin. It doesn’t matter how you bring the ball into the green, it will not stick. The fairways are super dry, and super hard.. You will probably break a wrist tryingto take a divot. Seriously, hitting off mats is a soft lie. From the tips, every single hole is one of the most beautiful and challenging layouts. I have seen in DFW. Unfortunately, my disappointment in the course grew with every hole. I will say that the sand was in great shape. It was soft and loose.

Great course!

Everything about the course was exceptional! Beautiful course and facilities. Carts are top notch. Course is challenging with some great elevations and par 3 holes. Only downgrade for me was the Pro Shop staff. Told them I was checking in and that it was my first time playing there and the only response was, “ well if you don’t need anything else .. you’re all set” . Had to ask where to grab a golf cart, where the range was, where to grab range balls, etc … all asked individually as if the first question wasn’t enough to prompt them to offer some sort of customer service to a first timer there. Didn’t ruin my experience, but left a sour taste on an otherwise great round. Especially at their price point I’d expect more as far as customer service goes.

Great course with great greens

This is a beautiful course with a great layout. Every green was consistent and extremely fast. There are almost no flat spots on any of these greens so look out for some fast down hillers. Layout and design were very aesthetically pleasing. I would highly recommend playing this course.
