Old Brickyard Golf Course
About
Some argue that the tricked-up golf course has no place in today’s game, but they might change their mind after visiting the eclectic Old Brickyard. As the name implies, the course lays out in and around an old brickyard, featuring dramatic elevation changes, blind shots, and some unbelievable, almost impossible holes. This is one you’ll want to play just to say you’ve seen it.
The opening holes are pretty basic as you traverse northward before turning into the meat of the course, where the dramatic elevation changes start wreaking havoc on your club selection. After about the third or fourth hole, every hole seems to have some unique feature.
The Old Brickyard Lake comes into play on holes 9-11, some of the most difficult holes you’ll find anywhere. After you limp homeward suffering near-disasters on the tricky par 3 No. 8, which plays over water and seems to drop about 5 stories, and the demented 9th hole, which features a funky tee shot and challenging approach over water to a difficult green, No. 10 is not a welcome sight. Hole 10 plays from an elevated tee box, with water along the right. Water comes into play on the next two shots as well, since it cuts across the dogleg-right fairway. If you’re struggling, this is a double-digit hole for sure.
There’s no real break after No. 10, either. The 13th requires a precision short iron to a tiered green. More surprises await as you finish the round, so be prepared. The yard is a fun day of golf.
Getting there : Take I-45 south from Dallas to Ferris, then exit 267 and continue down the access road to the entrance on the right.

Golfer Reviews
Fun course with some awesome views
My buddy and I were in town and needed to play somewhere while we had some free time. Saw this place and decided to check it out and we were not disappointed. The course isn’t too long unless you really want to stretch it and layout was nice with a bunch of cool holes. I really think it is a great place to go play if you were in the area.
Clueless staff
Checked in for 730 tee time and asked to get a bucket of range balls. The gentleman sold me the balls but then told me he wasn’t sure if the range was open. Then he said he didn’t know if today would be cart path only or not and told play a few holes then call the clubhouse to find out. Tee boxes were full out ant mounds and there’s a huge wasps nest along the cart path between hole 15 and 16. No beverage cart and overall the course is barely maintained. Other than that experience was average at best. Won’t drive 45 minutes out of my way to play here again.
Will be back
Beautiful views, a good solid challenge for someone who hasn't played in awhile. Fairways were in great shape, Greens were solid, and enough hazards to play with.
Great Shape
Played The Old Brickyard last weekend and it was in great shape. They closed 9 holes during the early summer to re-do the greens on 9 holes and they did a excellent job. I have played a lot of different courses this summer looking for better condition courses that I can afford during this drought and this one is now at the top of the list. Well Done!!
Great value
Had the opportunity to play the course today. Not sure what some of the other reviews have seen, fairways lush and the greens were running true and somewhat fast. From my point of view and pics...the course was in very good condition. Has spots with challenging wide open fairways to blind shots to tee shots that force you to Plat a draw over water as the perfect shot.
Our only disappointment was the grill is not open on Sundays. The only other regret, they should have sand on the range so divots can be filled. Otherwise..I thought it was a neat course and will go back.

Bang for your buck
Course was good, greens held and fairways were great. Not gonna beat the price or the course conditions for the middle of summer. Had a couple of greens that were a little fuzzy but they all rolled true
Post Green Repair
Greens a in top shape after a few months of repair.
Brick yard
I was surprised as to find the greens and fairways in such good condition. This course is so challenging for me. That’s why I like it.
GREAT JOB ON RENOVATING THE COURSE
Played here earlier this year and left after 9 holes. They did and excellent job getting the course back in shape. I'm looking forward to playing here again.
Love the course layout.
Greens were in excellent shape & I like the rolling layout of the course. Only thing is there’s lots of blind shots. It also can be confusing as to where the next hole is. Especially trying to find No. 16. They could use better signage. If you’ve never played it, you’ll get lost out there. But overall enjoyed my round.
