Lakewood Country Club
About
Lakewood Country Club of Naples sprawls across 52 lush acres that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including several different bird species. Located just outside of downtown Naples, Marco Island is just a few minutes away. The golf course snakes around four freshwater lakes, the sparkling waters contrasting beautifully with the native trees and shrubs that border the fairways and greens. The par-60 course is ideal for beginners, offering a round with a conveniently quick pace of play that will still put your short game skills to the test. Making putts is particularly challenging. Most of Lakewood Country Club of Naples's greens are elevated and you'll encounter water on 14 holes. There are also 28 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Every hole has a risk-reward scenario in play, which keeps the low handicappers happy but also gives new golfers the confidence to tackle the golf course without the fear that it's too much to handle.

Getting better
Played this course for the last several years. Condition this year seams to be improved. I believe there is new management. Nice track for beginners
Front 9 closed
Front 9 was closed Which we were not advised of until we arrived. They need a marshal on the course to keep the play moving. Too many slow golfers. Several playing multiple balls.
No front 9
The front nine was closed which we were not told about before coming to play based on our booking. We to play the back twice. There’s no marshals for the slow play was very very slow
Good course for the money
It started out a bit rough as they had no ice or water machine and no cups. Luckily I brought two bottles of water and they had cold water out on the course for refills. The greens are very small but well kept so it's tough for a short course. I played "tin cup" on the over the water 150 yard hole as the wind gusted many shots into slices in the water. Finally landed one 15 feet from the hole. We finished in 2 1/2 hrs which was nice.
PublicClub open to Public
3 groups who booked online all with golf pass had same T time at 9:30. We ended up teeing off 9:40. The other groups were somewhat upset.
We have placed the course many times. Today it seemed wetter, with some mud and very long rough. Ball basically stuck with no roll.
Ok course
Ok short course. Pace of play was slow due to new players ahead of us, So so conditions
Nice little gem!
Green were clean and divot free and rolling true. Wasn’t busy and got an great opportunity to dial in my irons and wedge play. Too bad they will be closing, but will definitely visit once they reopen.
Get there while you can!
The course was really fun. Greens and fairways were in good conditions considering our lack of rain. The green were a little hard so play the bounce. The course is cut great leaving the approach at this executive style course challenging. Great thing is that all the par fours allow you to bring out the big boy (driver) as they are 225+ in yardage. The course was recently purchased, not sure what is going to happen to the course next. So Get there while you can!
