Ocala Golf Club

Ocala Golf Club provides the most bang for your buck. We had an 8:30 tee time on a Saturday, it was busy but only after a couple of holes the groups stretched out enough to have a close to normal pace of play. The course conditions are the beat in the county and rival some of the private area courses. The layout is very player friendly allowing you to always be in the hole even after an arrant tee shot. Greens are well maintained and cannot be blamed for your missed putts.

Course is in good to very good condition from tee to green.... nice practice area ..... hard rain storm prior playing.... but course dried up real quick water was never a issue

Great condition. Aerated 2 weeks ago and couldn't tell. Greens were great, fairways great, tee boxes great. Staff was awesome and they had water all throughout the course to stay hydrated. Just all around amazing day of golf at an amazing course.

Greens complexes challenging, and Florida breeze adds to difficulty. Litle water in play unless you're really bad.

This course is always in great shape and today was no exception.

I was a little discouraged by the kength of the course and the fact that it is a muni. Man was I wrong! The course is in the best shape of any muni that I have ever played. And as far as the length goes. The elevations and angles take care of overpowering the course.

Bottom line is, go play it! The city of Ocala should be proud. I'm going back to extract some revenge and recover my dignity. lol

This is a municipal course - it is IN Ocala. The greens were GREAT, although slower than I was used to here in Florida. Reminded me of velvet. Fairways in decent shape. Some sand, little water to worry about. It was VERY busy, which slowed down play. The thing I missed was the serenity of being on a golf course. Most are settled within single family homes, or out in the country. This is IN the city of Ocala. A lot of road noise, and therefore few views of fauna. The three workers I spoke with were very friendly and helpful as this was our first time on this course.

The folks are doing a great job of maintaining and improving the golf course. It is a beautiful municipal course and the old oaks are a pleasure to see. Go play!

This was my second time on this course, and I was amazed at how good the greens were! Kudos to the Superintendent, he should give classes to the other Sups in the area because he's got his greens perfect. Course is pretty wide open, although some in my foursome found a lot of shade anyway. My tip to first timers - on 18, you have to drive the ball left, the turn of the dogleg right is further than it looks, and what looked like good drives off the tee were blocked by trees because they were too far right and not long enough. If you haven't played here, well worth the trip.

We had an awesome time playing today. We weren’t sure the course would be open due to rain, but there were only a couple of wet spots that didn’t interfere with play. The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone.

Course in very good shape, greens even, staff friendly, moderate in price

Good condition. Tournament going o.n so it was slow. Tough greens

I found the course to be moderate in my ability to play it; did not like the very tight lies and hardness on the fairways and the greens could have been better. It must be a Florida thing for I am used to playing the courses up north where the fairways play is softer and the greens are smoother.

Booked a foursome on GolfNow for 11:32 am. Great day of golf, teed off on time and had no delays during the round. Great staff and we even had time to grab a hot dog and a beer to go at the turn. We'll be back again.

Plays surprisingly long because of the many uphill holes and the wind. Conditions were good. Greens are fair and receptive because of the sandy base and roll nicely and are not too fast.

It is a more old fashioned layout without the more modern trend to target golf, making it a more user friendly, ie forgiving, experience.

Fun to play and worth a trip!

First time playing OGC. Friendly staff and well kept course. Greens were in excellent shape.
