Ocala Golf Club

The weather was perfect mid 70s, pace was excellent (3 1/2 hour round) and the course was in great shape. Greens was fast but true. Greens held high shots and so if you were accurate with iron shots you had a decent putt for birdie. The only drawback to the whole set up was that the club did not serve food. Drinks were available though.

The course is in very nice shape. Not crowded and the price was great. Friendly staff!

Another hot steamy day in Ocala, Florida. Got started around 10 am and once again found this city course to be in excellent shape. Greens were fast and fairways great. We're coming back soon.

A buddy and I drove down to play an FSGA event here, so the golf course itself was in fantastic shape. The layout is a lot of fun, especially with 5 par 5's and 5 par 3's. It's all the golf course for most level of players from the tips. Generous fairways, and undulating greens. Again, I played it in tournament condition, so I got spoiled, but even at their top rate of $30 this course is a steal in my mind. I'd be happy paying that to play it anytime.

The first green on the first hole is the nicest putting surface I have ever seen. It looks fake. Now, the rest of the greens are not this perfect (which I don’t understand why) but they are still in very nice shape. The course is green and plush. You are not hitting from a thin lie unless you put yourself there. We go to this course often and always enjoy the challenge and the course. The second hole is a challenging par 5 that requires 3 very good shots to get there. The course is extremely “wet” right now because of all the rain we have had but it’s a catch 22. The only thing I would criticize this course for would be there is no bev cart and they don’t employ course rangers but if you are looking for a nice golf course then this is it. The staff is super friendly as well. The starter Bob is a good guy!

Greens hold, well maintained, . Fairways challenging in places (no bare spots) so are bunkers. Overall the best in Ocala area.

Course was in great shape. Friendly staff very helpful but got stuck behind a threesome who hit the ball all over the place maybe they need a ranger to keep up the pace.

Course has been in excellent shape for the last year and a half. And now even the summer it’s still in great shape. A few greens have a couple spots on them. But isolated and 90% of the putting surfaces are very good

We encountered a huge amount of baby frogs 12-14 around pond

But more amusing than anything else

Upon arrival at course, notified that only back 9 available......had to play it twice...

As usual the course was in very good shape and the greens fairly fast. Being a Muni the pace of play could have been better, but there was some event going on and we saw some fivesomes on the course. This course is always in good shape and provides a great day of golf, and that's why we keep on coming back time and again.

I have played this course a number of times. This the best shape I have ever seen it in. Friendliest staff of any club around.

A little disappointed in the consistency of the greens and the fairways are in between grasses so somewhat barren

Ocala golf club or ‘muni’ as locals call it is never a disappointment. You can usually play here for under $30 if you play after 11am and it’s pretty much the best bang for your buck. There are courses in Ocala in better condition but you pay for it. If I want to play a course with fairways and greens always in great condition and don’t want to spend $50 I always go with muni.

This course offers challenges for all levels of golfers. The course is in good condition and the staff is always friendly. A restaurant is available with good food. Always a great value to play this public course.
