Palatka Golf Club
About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

Ok Course
Little irritated because there where not that many people out playing so I asked the front counter guy if I could have my own cart so I could get around the course a little faster. Not so friendly of a response “ you could pay 20 dollars for it “ and then some smug response when I said I don’t think so and walked out. As far as the course tees could have used a cut, fairways were in real good shape, greens looked really nice but just a bit on the slow side. Overall it is a nice municipal golf course but as you can tell I am whining about the counter help. I will get over it and play again.
WOW
All I have to say is wow. This place was great. Greens were full and yes a true. Maybe a touch on the slower side but great. So the fairways were way better than I expected. They had grass and not just sand. It was nice seeing a divot fly. Then to the tee boxes. I would say only 1 box needed attention and 17 others were in great shape. Course layout was from the 1920's but original Donald Ross, lfg. The driving range was into a lake also. So for that I'm making this my home course.
Beautiful Day in Palatka
A fabulous spring day to play golf. Tees were rough, some greens need work, but fairways were decent. Lots of players mid morning so it wasn't a speedy round with lots of wait time.
Overall, a fun day.
Balls flying all over the place
Keep your head down.
A 5 some and 6some with a lotta beer were out in front on a weekend….. terribly d slow play and no Marshall
Enjoyable day
Course is dry as all are now. Tee boxes need more grass. Greens have patches in them but still putt true. Tight course and need to be aware of errant balls from other holes. Today had Joe as a starter and even though very busy day he did an excellent job. Today made foursomes for all golfers and that greatly improved pace of play Often let singles and twosomes out which frustrates them to behind foursomes even when that group is playing in regulation time . Each year course appears to be improved
Nice Course
Love playing Palatka. They have real grass!
Loved the course, but they allow fivesoms and sixsoms
This course has beautiful fairways and greens, would have been lot's of fun to play except for the fact that the club let's it's friends and members play or 6 at a time maybe more , who know's!! Group ahead of us started 5 for the first nine and one of their buddies joined them at the 10th, 2 groups behind us they were also 6. The couple we played with are regulars and they said it's always like that on the weekends. So bad review for the staff to let that go on, our time of play was 5 hours and 15 minutes. I do not recomend you play there.
Palatka - A Good Beginner’s Couse
Fairways were in good shape. Greens had been aerated and sanded and were therefore slow. Main problem to us was the course design which was basic and not very interesting. Good course for beginners.
A Glorified cow pasture
Let me begin on a positive note,
the starter was top notch as far as friendly goes.
He let us know that the Azalea amateurs were coming in a couple of days, we figured we were in for a treat as far as golf course conditions were concerned
And now to the rest
Course layout is absolutely awful, I would imagine several people get hit or come close to being hit while playing.
Couple of the tee boxes were well within striking range of the previous hole.
The fairways were thin and screaming for water, the greens had bare spots… the tee boxes were lacking any lush surface, and far from being green.
we were told the course was in championship condition.
It is obvious the person on the phone, that told us that, has never been to a PGA event
I cannot understand how you would play any amateur event at this golf course, the states has so many courses to chose from why Palatka?
this one is a must NOT see
Don’t waste your time
