Golfer Reviews
Work in Progress
I played Martin Downs about 6 months ago not much has changed. Greens this time were very sandy, roll true but hard to judge the speed depending on how much sand was between you and the hole. I will play it again next time I am here I like the layout.
Good value ,pleasant staff , bartender Kristine was nice and beer was nice and cold
They're still working on it
Which is a good thing. I have no issue with courses that are actively trying to improve their course conditions especially when those conditions are reflected in the greens fees. Full disclosure, I paid less than $30 through TeeTime, which was appropriate for conditions (sanded greens on some/many holes and a few fairway issues).
I liked the layout very much. It was refreshing to play a course with wide fairways where you can actually use your longer clubs (I think it is BS when courses hide behind "it's a shot making course").
Expect pace of play to be a slow as everywhere else although they did ha a ranger that informed me that it was moving albeit slowly. I was a single tho.
Monday round of golf
The course personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to head out earlier than the tee time. It was a clear WINDY day, making a few holes harder, but many tees to choose from. One downside was the fairways, a bit spongy, with dollar weed. The sand traps have hard packed sand and are fine from the fairway, but hard to get a clean shot near the green. Overall, decent old style Florida course.
Fun day
A great course for seniors. My wife and I played from the forward tees and had a great time . The only downside of the course is the greens have been aerated and I’m sure that they’re trying to get ready for the winter season. I hope to be back here very soon.
Pleasant surprise
I’d read a few rough reviews on Martin Downs, but the price was great, and we’re beginners so I thought I’d give it a shot. The course was in great shape, nothing like the reviews I read. We played thru one group that was taking a break in the light rain on the 3rd tee, and didn’t see anyone else until the 18th. This was on a holiday. Loved the course, can’t wait to return.
Back in rotation
I play with a regular 3 some every weekend. This course was getting worn out and not much maintenance was taking place. We stopped playing it year a half ago. Took a chance on it again and loved it. Teeboxes, fairways and greens have all improved. The group discussed it and we have the course back in our course rotation. Thanks for bringing it back...

Nice round
Played on a Sunday… great staff, nice place. Driving range is a pair of hitting nets near parking lot. Course is in nice shape, greens well manicured but we’re slow on the front and quick on the back. Two-some we were paired with was rather deliberate and slowed the round down. No snack/beverage cart but there is a snack stand ant the turn, the woman running the stand was fantastic. Overall, nice round at a decent price on a good course.
tee times over lapping
they put two twosoms together to make a fourseome in the slot right in front of our slot and not two slots ahead, they teed us off on time while they were on the fairway, it was just two of us and ended up having to go around them by the third hole, it was so frustrating the time we had to wait on the first two holes.
