1st Timer
The course is getting an update on everything. Overall great experience. The course was challenging pick your shot and go for it. I made my first hole in one on 17 par 3. So I will never forget The Moc. Met the owner and he was welcoming and sat and talked to us for a while. The bar was very nice.
Water, Water
!st. time playing this course. The water is everywhere and many of the fairways are very tight. Also apparently they have changed the hole pattern ,because my golf buddy gps would not read correctly, and that added to the difficulty. Most of the greens were in good shape but the 9th is very bad. It does appear they are putting a fair amount of effort into improving the course though.,lots of soft watery edges around the greens., almost no roll .I would play it again for the right price.
This course needs a Lot of improvement. Greens are slow. Many spots on green are bare, and trimming is a must.
No Marshall to keep play moving along.
You played on a golf now hot deal at 12:52 and the ranger left at 1:45. There were very few people on the course and I believe your group the the last to finish. We had told everyone at checking that the greens were in the process of being overseeded as well as tees, collars, approaches, and gree surrounds. Thank you for leaving your review and allowing us to cover where we are in the process.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. You played at 12:52 pm on a hot deal. We had told everyone we were overseeding the greens as we had received 100 inches of rain this summer and developed a disease. We are in the process of growing in the overseed and working on projects. Our ranger left at 1:00 pm just as you were teeing off and I believe you were one of the last people on the course.
Enjoyable afternoon
9 handicap playing the blue tees at 6600. Challenging layout with some tight fairways, plenty of water to negotiate. Greens were undergoing some maintenance on the days I played. They were shaggy, grainy and many areas with top dressing.
Keith
Thank you for your review and we realize that our greens are being repaired. The rains from the past summer have taken a toll but we are doing our best to repair them. We will be overseeding the greens in the next couple of days and have them ready in no time. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you soon.
The course was in very good shape the greens are rolling very true I enjoyed my day immensely will be back to do it again hopefully soon
Nice layout, good challenge, greens were rough
This is a pretty course with a nice layout. Lots of challenges for golfers of any skill level with some very narrow fairways and lots of water beside those narrow fairways. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Too bad they didn’t have a marshall out. The last 7 holes were abysmally slow thanks to a group about 3 groups ahead of us that were incredibly slow. Also on the day we were there, the greens were freshly dressed with sand and very difficult to anticipate ball behaviour.
With that said, it’s a nice course and we’ll definitely try it again with a hot deal as it was great value for money in spite of the couple issues. Hopefully, both were one-offs.
Nice course
Excellent value, friendly staff and very nice bar and restaurant. Course has a variety of challanging holes with very nice greens. Will play there again soon.
name change
this used to be Imperial lakewoods the fairways and greens are in very good condition.
The is deep and you can loose your ball easily.
One problem is they did not have my reservation from golf now so bring paper work
Thank you for playing. I’m sure that we had the reservation but the person behind the desk was unable to locate it. I’m glad you enjoyed our facility.
Not worth the money
The front nine was good, back nine needs serious attention and maintenance. No drink cart or water cooler on course.
I read your review but how do you rate the off course amenities poor when this may be one of the nicest sports bar restaurant clubhouses there is?
NEVER BOOK THIS COURSE ON GOLF NOW - RUINED MY 27th BIRTHDAY
So I’m in Florida for my 27th birthday and my girlfriend says, “you should go golf you deserve it” so I got a golf buddy and booked a tee time through the golf now app for 12:30pm. Drove 25 minutes to the course to see a piece of paper in the window saying the course was closed due to wet conditions. What a joke.
The golf course was closed for 10 days due to Mother Nature. We had met with the golf now rep and he said that the tee sheet should have been turned off which he had done but unfortunately your day had not. We reopened on September 12th due to the weather. You booked a 12:30 tee time at 11:30 and started to drive. If this ruined your birthday we are sorry but we do not have an integrated tee sheet with Golfnow. To rate everything Poor is false if you physically did not play.
This course very nice
I travel to Florida once every year on a golf trip. A must for me is to play this course. Although the course was great before, new ownership has raised the bar ! Greens and Fairways are excellent! Tee boxs are close to excellent. If I lived in close proximity to the area I would definitely be a member. If you are in the area , you must play this course. Also, owner and staff are exceptional!
Well kept public course
Course was very well kept. Greens were a little slow but smooth rolling. Staff in pro shop and restaurant were very friendly. Will definitely play here on next trip to Florida.
Trending better every week
Tees, Greens and Fairways are excellent. Rough is filling in nicely on all fairways and green collars. Greens-keeper is doing an excellent job. Fall conditions should be stellar after continued care and maintenance throughout the summer. A must play over the summer. Course requires ball control. You simply can't just hit it anywhere and expect to have a good scoring round.
Grass driving range has great turf for warm up before the round.
My go to golf course when I am in the area on biz
Pace of play is great here. The turf conditions get better and better each time I play here. My favorite part is the tee boxes are right next to the cart paths on every hole. No long walks or hikes up stairs or a hill to tee off!! Also keeps the pace of play moving. See you again soon.
Great Course !
I travel to Florida from Ohio every year. The highlight of my golf vacation is playing MOC ! Although in past years the course has been great, with the new ownership the bar has been raised to Outstanding ! Should I ever move in close proximity to MOC , I would most definitely become a member. If you are ever in the Palmetto Florida area - or just in Florida - I highly recommend playing MOC !
The MOC -- better and better each day
Course conditions continue to improve. Fairways, tees and greens are some of the best in the area. All trends indicate a move toward a first class facility. Rough continues to improve but if you are playing from fairways, no need to worry about the rough. Investment in course conditions are evident. Bring your A game because the layout is challenging but based on multiple tee locations the course can be played with enjoyment by all levels.
Driving range size and condition --excellent.
Burgers are excellent in the restaurant if you are hungry.
Holes 10, 11 and 12 are as tough as there is in the area for a three hole stretch.. #9 still remains a monster of a hole.
We wanted to give an update going into the winter season about what we have done and have planned moving forward. We have done our best to turn our cart paths into a much better riding surface with the asphalt milling machine creating a much smoother surface. We have been overseeding the tees as some have taken and we will continue to do more of them.
This past summer and into October the golf course had taken a record amount of rainfall. Our rainfall totals have exceeded over 110 inches of rain causing harm to the golf course greens. We have developed Pythium Root Rot in a few spots that we have been repairing over time and had been growing back in but the cold weather has put the growth to a halt. We have decided to overseed our greens starting on Monday December 3rd. The golf course will be open during this process and the grow-in process will take a couple of weeks to cut the greens back down. We did not want to overseed but we want to put out the best possible playing surfaces and overseeding will help us nurse the Bermuda grass back to health. This is definitely not something that was planned but this will be a much better putting surface for the entire winter season. The next couple of weeks the greens will be a little slower as the grass grows in to get us to a nice smooth surface. If you have any questions please contact the golf shop or reply via email.
Just wanted to let you know the email sent out last week. Thank you
