Moccasin Wallow Golf Club

This is a well laid out course and fun to play. The problem is that it has been dry and the course is a bit rough. We also noticed that all the ball washers on the course had no water in them and/or were not functional.

The course itself is in pretty good shape. A couple of greens were a little bare, but they were fast and tricky. Fairways were decent for this time of year. If you went left or right off the box it became a bit goaty. Most boxes were in good shape. We hadn't played here in a couple of years because it wasn't in great shape and the previous staff wasn't very pleasant. As the title states, the course has potential but the way we were treated at check-in left a lot to be desired. The young lady was nice enough when I told her our tee time. We were an hour early and were just looking to check-in and move into our carts, putt and hit the range, if the carts were available, which they had plenty sitting outside with no one in sight ready to play. The young lady quickly escalated the situation stating that the early rate was $70 so we couldn't tee off early, which didn't matter to us as we used a hot deal and weren't looking to tee off early. Not sure why she even mentioned it. Stated she had to call the owner. We all looked at each other with confusion. Again, we weren't looking to tee off early, just check-in. Speculating here, but after she got off the phone with that person, we were informed that we couldn't check-in until 20 minutes before our tee time because the current rate is $70. Again, hot deal at about $47pp for us. Again, not sure why that rate even mattered, seemed I was being questioned for trying to save a few bucks with a hot deal. I mean the rate was why we booked it. Same thing happened with our second tee time so no need to add to that. More was said but it didn't matter as it was like talking to the wall. We waited the hour, got the cart and enjoyed the round. Her complete lack of customer service is the only reason that we won't be back. Never seen such a thing trying to check -in in our lives. Note, Get there 20 minutes before if you aren't hitting the range or putting green.

Very dry. Had a great deal of difficulty putting a tee in the tee box. Had a group of six guys playing ahead of us that slowed us down on the back nine. No Ranger around.

At the turn my friend and I wanted to use the restroom in the clubhouse, however, it was closed. Luckily, my friend lives on the course. We came back to finish our round, then we were approached and accused of jumping ahead based on the direction we came. We explained why we came from that direction. There were no other golfers at that time we approached hole 10.. During this dicussion, two other golfers came up to Hole 10; he stated so your're going to inconvience them! We spoke to those two golfers after our round and there were NO issues with them. No excuse for rudeness!

Played with my wife on 2/20 and was incredibly disappointed with the areas around the green. All bare/thin lies with occasional weeds. Slow pace of play. We were paid up with two other ladies and we were on the heels of the group in front of us the whole time. No ranger to move things along.

Love the layout . Speed of play is always good . No real amenities to speak of just some overcharged vending machine items. The ball washers are always empty and the trash is overflowing onto the course on several occasions. The golf carts are dated , poor breaks, and no gps or range finders. Tons of wildlife and be careful of gators or you will end up like Chubbs! The staff seem like clock watchers and can’t wait to leave not really happy go lucky or great you with a warm welcome or smile . Overall not bad for the price , I would recommend.

I played today (11/23) and it's in great shape. The greens were smooth, fast and soft on the approach. Some of the rough that's way off the fairway( spots I found often today) were brutal because they are supposed to be penal, but the fairways were very nice.. my advice-- hit it straighter than I did. Staff was very courteous and pace of play was even better than expected. 100% recommend!

Decent course for the money. Good layout and decent greens.

Grass was over grown and just seems like it needs some love. Whoever is caring for it isn’t doing a good job at all

My only criticism is the tee boxes need some attention the rest of the course was ok.

Played Sunday with 6 of my mouth breating, porch dwelling buddies. Went off as a threesome and a foursome. Pace of play was quick. No hold ups. Which is rare on a Sunday. I may be biased on this review since I chipped in from a bunker for birdie on the par 3 second hole. Made my day. The greens were all consistant and smooth other that one on the backside that had a bad patch about 2' wide and 8' long. Guess where I landed! The fairways were in great shape. Tee boxes, also good. The Lady in the pro shop was terrific. The restaurant is closed due to staffing issues. She had plenty of drinks and ice on hand with small coolers. The starter was friendly and had info on the course conditions. My group will definately play this course again.

Very poor condition. Fairways weedy and dirt. Not the course I was use to play on. Tees unkept markings are missing and there seems to be little care in the maintenance of the course. Would not recommend to anyone.

Terrible condition, tee boxes, fairways and greens. Few greens in fair condition but most poor. No water in ball washers, no soap or towels in bathrooms, poor limited food options. Not worth $50 we played.
