Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Legacy is getting better
I golfed here a couple months ago and the greens were in terrible shape. Something I had never seen before on this course. We decided we would not come back until the greens had recovered. Although not all the way back the greens were about 80% recovered and made this an enjoyable round. The best greens on the beach look like they are returning.
Very nice course
I read some reviews from a week to weeks old complaining about the staff and the greens. I had no issue with either. Very friendly staff and greens overall were in great shape.
After a year
Came back to play legacy and for what they charged not good. The fairways have spots in them and the greens still have sand spot where they pulled a lot of weeds out of the green. Greens were slow and bumpy. Last year the course was in much better shape. Almost perfect. This year not so much. I don’t think they are putting the money into the course. Last year I was meet in parking lot with a cart. They also gave me to bottles of water. This year no one created me and no water. Water was scarce on the course. For what they charge I would go to Baypoint or windswept. Better courses and better conditions.
Staff was nice except for a greens keeper. Yelled at me for being to close to the green. Keep in mind they have GPS systems that shut the cart off if that happens. HIs approach was horrible and when I mentioned the guy I was playing with had his last radiation treatment for cancer last week he said then he should be playing. What kind of person would say that. The guy is trying to enjoy himself. No wonder the course is going down hill year over year.
I did meet some good people though. He was the only jerk. No a bad track but very easy to play. They just charge to much for the condition of the course.
Overpriced but solid course
Very expensive, greens were not in the best shape but a fun course
Course was fair but long
Staff at the first tee, driving range, and snack bar polite.
We played 18 and most of the greens were in good shape. Fairways were in excellent condition. Tee boxes were only fair, many bad spots and a bit uneven.
We were a foursome and following a very slow group of 3 on the front 9. This put us about 15 minutes behind on around the 5th hole. The carts had computers to help monitor pace of play. We stopped on hole 4 to let a single pass us.
On hole 6 the Marshall came out and told us we needed to speed it up because of our pace being behind. He was polite , but I looked back and asked him if we were holding anyone up ( there was no one b behind us as far back as we could see). He replied , “No. Not yet!”.
We played the rest of the front 9 and saw him twice more “monitoring “ us. Again, absolutely no one behind us . This was VERY distracting and I didn’t appreciate it at all and neither did the other the in our group. Made us feel rushed. No golfer likes that any more than they like having to wait.
We went to the back 9 and played at a good pace as we were on the front. Had a group of seniors behind us but the pace was fine.
Enjoyed the day except for the hall monitor staying on us the front 9 for absolutely no reason.
Fun and beautiful course
Saw several negative reviews and was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised and we really enjoyed the course and staff was friendly.
Greens have massive dead spots with sand
Pretty abysmal green conditions. Huge dead spots with sand on multiple greens.
Always a good time out on the course! Beautiful layout.
Good Course, Bad Timing
Second time playing this course in 3 years and same issues occur with the greens. I think my annual vacay aligns with their greens remodeling and aerating so half of them were a beach where I felt compelled to rake my footprints after putting. Staff is amazing as well as the rest of the course. Would definitely recommend whenever they aren’t doing greens maintenance!
Decent value for money considering the area
Range was not it good condition the hitting mats had holes and weren’t in good shape. Overall the course was in decent shape nice views a lot of water. Tee boxes were pretty rough I get the price considering it’s PCB but in my home area it’s a $30-50 course.
Green's
Everything on the course was good except the greens they were in bad shape alot of dead spots they had recently been punched and sanded ,looks like they are trying to get a handle on them but it will take some time. I work at a golf course so I know how expensive it is to keep up a golf course but with that said the price point was pretty steep for the playing conditions and for myself I will not return until they get them under control.
