Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Just right
Not much water
Trees
Lightning fast greens
Hitting straight is still the most common way to be successful and speed of putt no more than 1/2 way to cup so it doesn’t go 6 feet past on a missed cup
Enjoy the
Legacy
Not bad after the abundance of rain. Course was challenging, but fair with decent fairways. Will play there again.
Very well maintained course. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Pace of play was great .
We will be back!9
Legacy was fun
Legacy golf course was fun to play. It had plenty of tee options.
We were not able to use woods on the driving range, only irons, because of its close proximity to the road.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They couldn't have been nicer!
And Roscoe, the black lab was also a sweetheart!
Who made the greenskeeper mad? Seriously.
I played here on vacation while staying near Panama City. I've never seen such atrocious pin placement. You can make golf challenging without ruining people's rounds. My group almost three and four putted half the holes. So many pins were on a slope or at an angle. I'll never play here again just because of this.
Must Play for all levels.
Excellent, fun layout. You must be on the proper side of the pin or pay the price with fast greens! Nice selection of tee boxes for all levels of play. Large Wide Fairways.
Nice round of golf with the course in great condition.
Nice course but sprinklers on some greens prevented me from finishing the hole.
Enjoyable round
My son-in-law and I played a fun Thanksgiving weekend round in 2.5 hours on a 70-degree day with a moderate breeze. The course was in very good shape and the greens were rolling fast. On a previous round the course was soggy and played long but these were ideal conditions. The course has an interest layout with several holes that played longer than they looked. The new carts and GPS were excellent and the staff quite friendly and helpful.
Unique circumstances, but great day
It's Thanksgiving morning, so obviously this isnt a typical day. Regardless. Played 18 in 2.5 hrs. Golf now tee time included about 20 range balls. So that was nice.
Conditions were fantastic. Layout is a little blah, but there's enough dog legs to keep it fun. Not too mention the sneaky water that can randomly bite you.
A little pricey, but honestly, the conditions were pure. Not far off value wise. Everything was in tip top shape. Would recommend, just try to grab a hot deal!
A Good Value For A Quick Round
This is a typical resort course and a descent track if you want a quick and affordable round. Not an RTJ and not a low end Muni either. Very flat and scoreable with tall sparse pines lining the fairways. A lot of tees (in good shape) so it can play pretty long or short if you want. Greens were in excellent shape. The layout is basic. Not overly difficult. No holes stood out of the pack. They were neither uniquely authentic nor aethetically memorable. Water plays on almost all holes, mostly along the fairway edge rough. A lot of hidden water so the in cart GPS was very useful and necessary. No drinking water available on the course and although we were told a beverage cart would be available it never showed. They give you about 15 range balls to practice. No woods or drivers allowed. The Cafe is sparse with your basic burger, hot dog and French fries fare with 2 tvs showing sports. Only 1 other person was there. The pro shop is limited too. No orange balls and no ball markers for sale. Plenty of other swag if you want it.
Good condition. Overpriced.
For the area I guess the price is average but a little steep for no snack cart and 2 water kegs on course. I will say the cart guy brought our cart to us in the parking lot and that was pretty convenient. And the carts are the ELITE models with super comfortable seats and gps. Starter was also a nice guy.
Great shape
The course was in great shape. Greens were perfect a rolled probably 9-10. Fairways also very nice.
My wife and I showed up early and the starter let go out by ourselves since it wasn’t busy.. We went around in 3 hours . I find the 100$ green fee a little pricy . I had a hot deal with Golf Now for 172$ for both of us which made more sense.
Excellent Green's
Well maintained, manicured and greens roll great. Best in area for $.
