Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Good course for the money
Course conditions were nice, the greens were rolling a little slow, tee boxes were okay. Most holes were dog legs and had water and a green side bunker. Carts were nice with gps included. The only downsides were the pace of play was slower, there wasn’t any “wow” course features, and the lady bartender in the clubhouse was rude. She was one worded and not friendly at all. The cart girls were super nice and came around frequently. Worth a play but bring your own water with you!
Overall a good experience - nice destination course.
Overall it was a great course. Only two staff members were welcoming(the starter and one bar counter woman), the rest acted as if they could care less if you were there or not. Tipped the cart boys very well and they were very appreciative. Will be back again for another round but won’t expect any hospitality.
Golf course
The course was by far one of the best courses in bay county. I would definitely come back.
Refreshing experience
Legacy was in very good shape. The course was maintained very well. It’s priced fairly, especially if you get it on a hot buy as we did. The greens had some discoloration in certain areas, but were incredibly smooth, and held. While there was nothing as unique as a couple of the holes on Baypoint, I actually think the course was in better shape. If you’re near the Rosemary Beach seaside area, this is a course worth playing. I personally love playing after rain and we got plenty of it. The clubs collided through the fairway on my iron shots, or hybrids. The greens are incredibly fast considering the rain. I can’t really give you a rating on the traps because of the rain but from what I can see they were clean. If you play a fade you will love this course as there are several dogleg rights. The starter was absolutely hilarious and I enjoyed talking to give this shot. Of course you won’t regret it.
A solid experience
One of the only reasons we played this course was because of a Hot Deal on GolfNow we couldn't refuse. I saw some prices reflecting $110 and this is not a course remotely close to that price-point. But at the end of the day, it was a solid track. They just bought new golf carts and the club house looks freshly renovated. The course was in good shape, a lot better than what some of the reviews stated. I'm a righty and I typically draw the ball. That was one of my only gripes. Most holes are dog leg rights and if you can't fade the ball, it can put you in some precarious situations. Wish there was a tad more variety to the layout. Staff was pleasant and the pace of play was superb for being a public course. As long as prices can stay in the $70 range, I'll be back next year when we take another family vacation.
Needs a cart girl or better clubhouse
The course look is beautiful. Greens were slow but look like they were going through renovations. For the price of the golf course I was expecting a better club house facility. Was not impressed with that. It was scorching hot outside with no cart girl. I believe they should lower their tee prices.
Enjoyable round!
Course was in great shape. From tees to greens conditions were consistently good.
Getting Better
I see improvement in this course. I’ve played it 50 times over the last 20 years and I really enjoy it. I wish them luck but I think it needs more improvement before they charge the rates they do, especially when the greens have just been top dressed.
The person at the desk needs to smile. She is young so maybe she will learn. staff
Decent track greens need a little work.
I paid for a GolfNow hot Deal rate and even though the course wasn’t busy, they did make me wait until our entire foursome was there to start which is fine. We played in three hours and 20 minutes but if our foursome would’ve held up the folks that paid $110 for the round I can see how that would be an issue. Fairways were extremely generous, and in good shape and all 18 greens had a ton of sand on them, some with some bad areas. Overall, the greens still rolled pretty good but not sure I would pay more than $75 to play this course.
The greens had been ariated .so that was disappointing. Other than that the coarse was in great shape.
Horrible rup off with a very unfriendly bar lady
The course was un bad shape especially the greens. Bare spots on the greens, weeds growing on the greens. Where I'm from that course would be $40 but we payed $110 for a burnt up course. Also went to the bar/ snackshop on the turn. Asked what was in the breakfast burrito & was told, then asked what was in the breakfast sandwich (because thata how they are listed on the menu) & was told whatever she wanted to put on it. Then asked me what I wanted very rudely. As Im standing there kind of wondering why she was so rude she looks to the other people & asks them what they wanted & explained everything to them. Not only that she offered to put extra ingredients on their food. Couldn't believe it. I have never left a revues like this in my life but I'm a biracial man & I can't help but think.... well you know. Will never go there again & you shouldn't either.
