Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Very FAST GREENS
I played in february so The fairways and rough were dormant. The greens were still in very good shape and very fast.
Holiday is convenient and fun
The course was in fairly good condition, and greens were lightning-fast. It's not the most challenging, but provides a convenient and pleasurable place to enjoy a round of golf.
Good but not worth $85
We had not played there before but for $85 we were very underwhelmed. Staff was nice, got small bag of range balls for free, and food was decent. Pace was good but we played on a Tuesday, mid-day. However, there was nothing special about this course. Plain Jane course with minimal landscaping/scenery. For $85 go to Myrtle Beach instead and play courses that are worth the price. It was no nicer than the local courses we play back home (NC) for $40-45. It’s not along any body of water. Guess you’re paying to just play at Panama City beach.
A Go To Course
This is my go to course when I want one closer to Santa Rosa Beach, FL. They recently spent some money and renovated the club as well as the course. The club has a good selection of food and plenty of choices in beers. They had brand new golf carts that were clean and worked well. You can connect to Bluetooth if you don't want the onboard radio selections. GPS was accurate. Overall an improvement on the previous years. I bit crowded most times, but worth the price.
End of year round
Course in decent shape, greens consistent and true. Second off, paired with two folks behind SLOW foursome.
Went ok until 14, when they ended up waiting for a couple of REALLY slow foursomes that somehow got ahead of them?!
Ticked everyone off and ruined a good round.
Over price.
I’ve play this course many time over the last few years. Decent layout but nothing spectacular. The green fee went way up for no good reason. I would play elsewhere before I play again
Disappointed despite my low expectations...
I have played this course several times while at our timeshare. It is a fairly easy course, straightforward, nothing fancy, nothing to write home about. My expectations are always middle of the road but it is a close drive, easy to get on, and a chance to score.
Even with my low expectations, today the course underwhelmed. Both the fairways and greens had been aerified and there was plenty of sand on the greens making putting a challenge. Usually courses will advise you of the situation and even lower the green fees a bit. Not here. Already at $85 it is pricy for the quality of the course but all the area courses are higher as many were closed after the hurricane a few years back. Regardless, they should have at least mentioned the fairway and green conditions when checking in. Very disappointed.
Please alert players is you aerified.....

Best greens yet this trip
The greens were in very good shape as were the fairways. Normally play from 6,000 give or take. Would have played the whites at 6,200 and change, but played the silver at 5,866 with another guy. Didn't make a difference in my score, so shame on me. Were allowed to go 90 degrees to your ball which made a big difference in the enjoyment. I understand times that cart path only is necessary, but I hate it and won't play if I have knowledge of the conditions. Crowded that day, but the staff handled it very nicely.
