About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Fun day
Course in good shape. Nice greens. Friendly staff.
Course was busy because of a tournament. We did not seethe "cart girl" as much as we wanted (only once) but she was apologetic.

great speed on the greens
They said they have recently redone all their greens and they are in very good condition, hard and quick, but not super quick. Never had to wait to go to the next tee. The weather was perfect so that made everyone happy. Need to keep control of your drives or you will be in trouble on a lot of holes but some are also pretty wide. Par 3s were challenging and fun.

Nice course, sloooow play
Decent enough track, greens and fairways in very good condition, tees just ok. Only real downside with this course is the play was extremely slow, in some cases three groups on one tee, nearly 5 hour round.

Pace of play at Holiday is Horrible. Its ALWAYS slow, especially the day I played. literally 4 groups on one hole (1 on the green 3 groups on the tee).
Finally, greens are too fast for a touristy course, slow them down to keep the pace of play up!!

3 hours to complete nine holes, I left after doing the front nine. Rangers did nothing to speed up play, as if this was the norm.

Poor course management
Had a 2pm teatime. The course was so backed up I did not tee off until 2:30. I only got to play 13 holes because it was dark. Marshall joked about how packed it was and couldn't care less about making players keep pace. Although it's not completely his fault because the pro shop just stacked the course. This course is more concerned about making money than giving you a great golf experience. 13 holes and 4 1/2 hours! Completely unacceptable! As a local I probably won't be back.

Course was all backed up from a previous tournament that day we had a 1:22 tee time really didn't get a chance to finish before dark
Great Couse, extremely slow play!
Tee off time was 1:15hrs and front nine was 2hrs 45 mins, they really have to get the Marshalls working and speeding up the play, there was a 3 some ahead of us taking a lot of time and we were a foursome. Very hard to maintain any type of rhythm when waiting on every hole. Played 18th hole in the dark and anyone behind us came in due to slow play. Recommended play 4hrs 10 mins, not on this day!
After a saturday tournament, but got us out in a timely manner
Great value and greens were fast after tournament conditions.
Boring and expensive
We played five courses local to Panama City Beach and this was the most unimpressive. The layout is pretty boring with few hazards the main defence being greens guarded by heavy bunkering. Pace of play was good but only because we were let through by a very slow four ball early on. There was lots of shouting and whooping from some other groups which was really irritating. To be fair, our view might have been more positive if the weather had been a bit warmer and the sun was shining! For the money there are better courses in the area.
Sir: We are sorry your experience was less than desirable. We pride ourselves in having a FUN golf course, and fair layout for players of ALL skill levels.
