Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.

The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Good value with GN discount

Haven't played here in a few years, got a good deal on GN, decided to give it a go. Course in very good condition for December. Good pace of play, except we were asked to speed up even though we were on the heels of the group ahead, perhaps the twosome behind us was antsy due to the late afternoon time they had on a short winter day. Could not find a restroom on the course. Greens in excellent condition. Course played very long into a north wind. Not a par three under about 160 yards. Not a good course for the ladies, and even a bit tough for a senior male like me. One par three has a huge pine tree blocking the drive. Pins were in very tough positions this day on many holes. Very nice check-in staff, made us feel welcome. Not too much rough or water hazards. Big bunkers but well sanded and in good shape. At this price a very good value, and I plan to play there again. Thanks.

Great Course - Slow Play!

This is a fabulous course - challenging layout, regardless of tee played; beautiful scenery even though w/o Gulf views; excellent course conditions; and, the staff are very helpful. However, be sure to get a tee time away from when the local "Gun Slingers" are playing their rounds - so horribly slowwwwww play and you cannot get through them. If you can't obtain tee times, go elsewhere.

best course in Destin Florida

For courses that are open to public, this is in top five in the panhandle. And the greens are that good and fast.

First time

Enjoyed the course but the front nine was really slow because we were following a regular group of 8 foursomes. They must have left because we never had to wait on back nine. Generous fairways and fast greens. Had to look closely if ball was in the rough. Good layout and only lost one ball

Really

The course was in great condition, staff friendly and cart girls amazing. However, course of play took away from the moment. We were behind a foursome that decided the only round that mattered was theirs. In the cart it clearly states "pace of play...4 hours and 10 minutes". Our round started at 1207 we finished close to 6. Yes 6. We saw the Marshall and he was friendly but did nothing to speed up play. Yes we started at the completion of a scheduled tournement; however, by the turn no one was ahead of the slow group ahead. So would I tell others about the great things this course has to offer yes but it needs to work on pace of play.

The fairways greens were in excellent condition. No dead spots in either, which is pretty common this time of the year in the deep south.

First time.

I was impressed with Holiday Golf course. This was the first time playing. The staff was friendly and the course was nice, the greens where slow but rolled true. The fairways are nice and wide for your high handicap player but still challenging.

Awesome greens

Course was in really good condition. Greens were almost perfect. Fairly challenging course that will reward you for good shots and penalize you for errant shots. Overall, a very good experience and would definitely play again.

Classic FLA Course

Holiday GC is what you expect in Florida: lush, lots of water, sand, heat, etc. This was a fun course and one you should definitely play in the PCB area. Fairways are lush (with more filled divots than I've ever seen). Greens were a bit slow as they'd been aerated lately. Took a while to figure out the breaks. Rough will grab you if you find it. Some tough par-3s particularly when the PM breezes blow. Biggest challenge are several dogleg holes where you'll need to cut the dogleg (tight!) or face a long 2nd shot.

No water, but there are drink carts on the front and back nine. The course is very well marked on every sprinkler head. What is not well marked are the water hazards, several of which line holes. Not a red stake to be seen. Speaking of colors, the blue flags (marking pin is back) are so faded they're indistinguishable from whites.

Nice course

Played here.many years ago. Much improved fairways and greens. Layout is left to right except for one dogleg left. Fairly wide open with sugary sand traps. Front nine goes around the outside of a lake and small tributaries and the back nine follows that same track but inside the front nine. Because of the lack of land many greens and teebox area are close to each other. As you already know tif eagle greens are difficult to spin for the average golfer but they are durable and they putted very smooth. Two friendly attractive ladies where working the beverage cart and we saw them multiple times. The complex is very nice with driving range and lighted par three course adjacent to the main course. Very pleased except for three double bogey holes. Seriously course was good.

Could be so much better!

The golf carts need to have rain covers for the clubs. That's a very common thing now. There is only one water fountain (not cold) on each side, which is the same location. No cups or ice available on the course. There should be a water bucket set up every 2 or 3 holes, like most courses, especially for the price you have to pay to play there. The first cut of rough off the fairway is too high. Needs to be cut down half as high. You should not be penalized for missing the fairway by a foot.

A few changes are needed!

The golf carts need to have pull-down rain covers added for the clubs. It rains a lot in PCB! The first cut of rough is too high. It needs to be cut half as long. You should not be penalized for missing the fairway by a foot! There should be water stations located every 2 or 3 holes. Now, there is only one, and it's a water fountain, and it's not cold! No cups either to take some with you. Locals know this, but out of town guests suffer. It gets hot in PCB!

A fun course to play

The course was in great shape. Most holes are very forgiving although there is some sneaky water on several holes. The sneaky water isn't really in play on most holes, only on off target shots. Pay attention to the signs and card and you should be fine. We would definitely play this course again.
