About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

manageable hazards
Played course for the first time and I loved it. I was paired up with three gentlemen from Nebraska and had a great time, even though I am from rival Iowa. (it's a Big Ten thing). The course was in very good shape, and the greens putted true. Even the traps were well maintained. I plan to play this course several more times while I'm in Florida.
Friendly and well maintained greens
Course was good, met nice couple and we are all playing there again on Friday.

Nice course but does handle rain water well
Holiday is a nice course with good greens and well maintained. The only issue we had was the fact the course does not handle the rain well as the course was very wet from the rain the previous day which led to path only for carts. Would rather have walked.
Staff was great and the pace was good.... recommended.
It's nice to see that management cares enough to respond to rating comments..that in itself will motivate me to play the course more.
Again really enjoyed Playing Holiday. Great greens.

A good day on the course
Greens were firm, fast and playable. Work done over the past year shows. Over seeding on fairways has required a lot of watering but even with the rain we have had they were relatively dry in most areas. Practice facilities are good but would be nice to be able to practice hybrids and drivers. the course is well payed out and a pleasure to play. We all really enjoyed both times we have played this year. Reasonable value for the golf now hot deals but full price is too high for the area in my opinion.

Nice Course, Good Value
I played this course for the first time and thought it was really a nice course. It was in good condition, though the greens were a little slow..as can be expected on a public course. Unfortunately, the pace of play was extremely slow. Lots of twosomes and none would pair up. It was so slow that on the turn, I went back and played the front nine again.

Winter-wet conditions
Unfortunately playing here in the winter months tends to find the course rather wet in many areas of course. Greens are very firm and do not hold so play short of pin placement. Nice layout.

Great course, but the greens are too firm
The course layout was great, we had a lot of rain the day before so the course was very wet and played longer and tougher than usual but still very fun ane enjoyable. The staff were great and the practice area was great, although, the don't allow you woods or drivers on the driving range.
What I did not like were the greens. They are too firm! Approach shots bounced high and rolled a long way and often right off the back of the greens, there is literally NO chance of holding a green, take a club less and aim for the front of the green and expect it to bounce and roll for a long ways. Don't try to control spin, it's useless on these greens.

Always call ahead
Nice course, but they had just seeded and were watering fairways heavily, resulting in a very soggy round in places. My fault, though, since I booked online and neglected to call. Beverage cart stopped running early, but I was still hung over from the night before, so it didn't really matter. ;-)
Thank you for your comments. We recently completed our winter overseed with much success. This procedure requires a tremendous amount of watering, however, the outcome is well worth this process. Great fun course. friendly staff. Seemed like it might be very busy, but we moved right along. Pretty nice greens for the time of year.

Hard Greens
Overall this is a nice course. It is jam packed as many holes run side by side, and back to back. My biggest complaint was the greens. I realize they are new greens but it is like hitting your ball on concrete. They are very hard. There is no stopping your ball on the green from an approach shot or even a pitch or chip. You are better off aiming short and letting the ball roll up on the green. Makes for scoring extremely difficult.
