Great Public Course and Reasonable!
Rancho Maria has been a local family owned course since as long as I remember. As everything has gotten more expensive, they have kept green fees so that myself and my family can afford to play there regularly. Fairways and greens are kept in great shape which isn’t easy with water being the issue that it is. No two fairways are next to each other and the hillside views are amazing! A very quiet and peaceful place! Pace of play can be slow due to groups of five being in front of you but it’s rare not to have the offer to play through. Nice putting green and a large sand bunker in the practice area. Food is terrific and staff top notch. Most appreciated is how they treat beginners and especially how they promote the game with kids, students, and especially girls. Lots of women’s groups who are welcoming toward younger players making them feel safe and have very positive experiences. My own daughter is now 19 and plays there several times a week. She loves it!

I've always liked this course. But it seems like they need to mow a little more around the trees and even do a little raking or something to pick app the extra grass.

Rancho Maria is a must play
Like the caption. I highly recommend Rancho Maria. Just passing thru opportunity or a regular master on this course. The cut is rough but will make you stronger and a wiser player for this course.

Rancho Maria
Nice course , great fairways, off fairway is a lot of cut grass just left there. Great staff , great food in the restaurant very friendly people .Great value to play and had a good time.Wish the carts were not open top, like a little shade when playing.Overall good experience , will play their again

Wind
It was so windy it was not enjoyable. Worst wind I’ve ever played in. Fairways good but rough was not good

Good course for the price
I'm not a fan of hitting uphill to where you can't track your ball would be my only layout gripe. There is mostly crabgrass in the fairways which kinda sucks, the cart paths are brutal, the carts have no roofs for some reason? Other than that solid price, nice greens, some sandy bunkers, some dirt bunkers.

difficult greens
I believer the golf experience should be fun but challenging as well. I found the greens to be excessively challenging. 3 putts was the average for each of our foursome group. Its very discouraging to play pretty decent yet have bad scores because of all the 3 putts. This isn't the PGA, most golfers would just like to have a good experience, with a little fun and want to go back, not a discouraging one. Tee boxes were also pretty bad and unlevel. I don't see myself returning to this course but other nearby courses like Alisal or Blacklake
